Morrissey Central "Madness." (December 1, 2024)

"Wikipedia confidently list me as an ex-member of Slaughter And The Dogs, and an ex-member of The Nosebleeds. I did not ever join The Nosebleeds and I have no connection whatsoever with Slaughter And The Dogs. Is there anyone at Wikipedia intelligent enough to set the record straight? Probably not." MORRISSEY, 2024.

This is so disturbing. He’s moved into his dead mother’s house. He’s posting obituaries for Old Hollywood. He’s isolating himself and clearly concerned about his legacy in some weird way as evidenced by this.

Confidently? Nobody is even around to tell him how Wikipedia works? This is the first thing he’s ever posted that on its face just makes him look out of touch and outright stupid. I fear what’s next.
Yes, a few of us back in London in the 90s used to call M, Norman Morrissey or Morrissey Bates
After seeing a couple of episodes of that shitty fecking show Bates Motel, it seemed even more
fecking apt
I wonder if he has done a whole shrine to his mother and goes around the house wearing her clothing and a syrup?
Don't forget to lock the fecking bathroom door when you shower Johnny

As for the name he claims Johnny wanted to use, who knows if it's true, given he just claimed to not be in bands he was in, do you trust him?

Hey Moz , the only person who gives a shit if you were in these bands or not is you. If you still care about having a successful career then please stop boring us with this trivial crap and release some goddam music.

Bristish journalist Peter Frame reconstructed the recruitment of Morrissey:

"Billy knew this guy Morrissey, who ran the New York Dolls Fan Club and wrote lyrics - and got him to join The Nosebleeds, although he had never sung before. The pair of them dumped all the group's old songs and wrote an entirely new set like "Peppermint Heaven" and "I Think I'm Ready For the Electric Chair". The audience was perplexed; it was a strange band!"

Before dissolving in late May of 1978, The Nosebleeds performed two concerts, one at the Ritz (supporting Magazine) and one at the Manchester Polytechnic for a Rabid Records benefit.

After the group split up Banger released a few solo singles and joined Slaughter and the Dogs during their period as Slaughter, Morrissey went on to form The Smiths, Toby appeared with Ludus, Blue Orchids and Primal Scream, and Pete Crooks joined up with Vini Reilly in the first incarnation of The Durutti Column under the "guide" of Tony Wilson.

🤷‍♂️
FWD.

Guess Moz was more of a merc than
a member.
Kinda wonder if that Peppermint Heaven
song had somethin' to do with the old music venue, the Peppermint Lounge.
Someone should cover those songs.

Nice to see Morrissey devoting his time to what's really important at this stage of his career. Wouldn't want to see him wasting said time on something so irrelevant as the release of a LP of "new" music recorded over four years ago.

Surely Moz has better things to do than complain about Wikipedia which anyone can update (kind of the whole point of Wikipedia)? I literally have nothing to do but still wouldn't complain about Wikipedia if they got facts about me wrong. Which they wouldn't cos I've done nothing of interest to anyone other than my immediate family, in fact even they aren't interested. How come Moz isn't having a few IPAs (gin is piss) and listening to the epic new Sack album? Beggars belief, really.

He may, in fact, be having a few IPAs.

He is human after all. Can he not have downtime and waste time like we do here and elsewhere on the internet to amuse himself and then react when something bothers him or catches his attention? As for those who keep griping about him and his mom, it’s a really odd to me to want to insult someone over their affection and grief for a parent and a longing to have a place called home.

You’re not really disturbed, are you? You literally commented before on this same thread: “What a joke he has become.”

So you find “disturbing” things about his life and choices now to be jokes? Arguably, the things you think are disturbing are not necessarily so.

Then you tell us you became a fan of The Smiths in 1990. It’s becoming apparent this feigned “concern” you have is more about your own personal feelings. It’s apparent that Morrissey is no longer representative of the aura, your own brand of perceived cool, you want to project to the world. That’s okay. It’s interesting to continue reading your opinions on the directions he might/should take. You don’t think Morrissey is cool, do you? Does that embarrass you? He doesn’t seem embarrassed to be himself in the way he is publicly Would you say he is embarrassed with himself?

I have found it true that when we are ourselves, it offends people who expect us to fit in their box so they can feel comfortable with themselves. Maybe he is not willing to play some game to pretend to fit in the normie cool box. . . bad business? Might be. But in the end we ultimately have to live/die with ourselves.

Do you really want to hear the unreleased albums or see the man happy? Maybe a little more love with your judgment would have people believing you really do care and aren’t just taking potshots for some weird narcissistic superiority motivations.

Around here, children are taught in elementary school that Wikipedia is not reliable source material. Nothing wrong with Morrissey correcting the information on his own site.

TBF, maybe anyone can edit Wikipedia, but the alternative where he starts removing facts from Wikipedia and leaving comments like "I know this is false because I am Morrissey" is probably a worse option that him just whining about it.

The name is so awful that I just kinda want it to be true. I keep imaging the album covers with that name in place of The Smiths and I just can’t.

He’s become a joke and it’s disturbing, yes. Can you chew gum and walk at the same time?

This has nothing to do with me, I’m fine and not stuck in nineteen eighty-hate.

I think you should see a Doctor because you just keep repeating the same thing over and over and over and over and over again, and, well...I think you're unwell.
