#4? #10? #23? #25?? #27? #31?? #32??? #33???? #34? #40? Did he just put his songs on shuffle and list the songs that played?

good to see smiler at no 4,great song.
depends what the criteria was here with some classics not making the list.

Spent The Day In Bed appears in a list without Late Night, Maudlin Street?

Balls!!!

Yeah, this list is a tough one for the real 'deep discography' fans. I do think the final refrain about 'bus, boss, rain, train' is classic Morrissey though and one of his best lyrics. I think for certain that Maudlin Street should be on the list too, one of the more endearing and emotive songs on VH.

Smiler with Knife on number four.

Are you hitting the sauce again, Myrtle?
it never said they were ranked from best to worst.
if it was best to worst ganglord would be higher than 39.

Since the start of his solo career, hasn’t he always said what he was doing by himself was better than the smiths?
Thinking of the MTV interview with the lads in 1992
“If The Smiths and This (his band) were around at the same time, I would’ve preferred This”

Well......he would...wouldn't he. The Smiths left a bad taste.

Why shouldn't he be proud of the last 30 plus years of his post-Smiths career? That part makes sense. But, to exclude certain Smiths tracks (songs of real significance, like MIM and TIAL) in favor of some solo B-sides and some other relatively obscure songs (that are obscure for a reason, mostly) seems strange.
