Don't often message on threads other than shows but have been a big fan for 10+ years attending every UK tour. As it's clear from recent events this forum is scanned by someone on his team, I think it's desperately sad to cancel these shows and label it as simply 'unforseen circumstances'. I was interested in tickets and sales so had been checking to see how they'd moved this week in the hope the gigs would go ahead and I could watch the videos online. It was clear these shows were not going to sell out, I really think it would have been smarter to try to move the venues or reorganise the dates at a smaller venue. The idea of playing Quarry in full is a sound one, he should do the same Viva Hate (he obviously never even toured that at the time). I think labelling it as unforseen circumstances like Nottingham and the rest is a plan to get less publicity, and it works, many news outlets don't pick up his cancellations anymore. I love and respect the man, I just wish in these cases he tried to accommodate for the reality of what's happened and reward those who have stuck by him, if an event is scheduled and doesn't happen eventually people will stop wanting to take the risk. Playing a half empty show is a short term loss but a long term better option if the bank balance can take the hit. I hope the next shows are successful, I hope he plays lots of Quarry and it was rehearsed. Playing an album like that in full and some new songs is a good idea, it needed better execution, this is clearly a bit of a mess. I hope someone can re-evaluate on his team and come up with a plan. He sounds good, maybe taking the rest of the year off and seeing what the demand is like in 25 is the way to go. For now it's just sad that all the people excited and in US to see this miss out. Sorry to anyone waking up to this I feel for you.
