Excerpt:

BMG Records have dropped Morrissey. Following the March 2020 release of I AM NOT A DOG ON A CHAIN
(#1 Scotland, #1 Poland, #3 Britain, #3 France, #10 Spain, #13 Germany, #2, #9, #17, #18 U.S.A. - depending
on which official chart you follow), BMG have appointed a new Executive who does not want another Morrissey
album. Instead, the new BMG Executive has announced new plans for 'diversity' within BMG's artist roster, and
all projected BMG Morrissey releases/reissues have been scrapped.

"This news is perfectly in keeping with the relentless galvanic horror of 2020," said Morrissey, "we would be critically insane to expect anything positive."

Morrissey is once again in search of a new label willing to release his music.

"My three albums with BMG have been the best of my career, and I stand by them till death. Recording them has been a pivotal period in my life, and I thank the previous BMG team and everyone involved for that. It's still important to me to do music my own way, and I wouldn't want to be on a label that dictates so specifically how their artists should behave - especially when the word 'talent' is notably never mentioned."

Morrissey's duet with David Bowie is now available on Parlophone via Warner.

"There are too many cases of successful artists languishing at labels who are no longer interested in them." Alistair Norbury, BMG.

Morrissey's Las Vegas residency remains in place for 2021.

Yes, in The Importance Of Being Morrissey in 2003. Bono was right.
I have watched the importance of being Morrissey, many, many times over the years... the best thing he’s ever done like that.....

But one thing I couldn’t ever get my head around was the blandness if his living room furniture, it was also way to big for his small living room....
He was pissed off that the fax machine was being shown, he told the camera person to stop filming it, as it “was the cheapest one on the market”
Johnny depp ( I think) lived next door and used to blank our moz. I think deep eventually bought mozzers house in the end ....
wonder if moz left him the manky furniture 😂

The record player! How can you be such a music nerd and also very rich and not have a decent hi-fi system? 😂

Yeah, I've also watched it over and over. It's so funny and bizarre in parts. Why did they include all the shots of him driving? Driving a car in LA, driving a car in England, driving a scooter in Greece. Morrissey is a real cosmopolite and really likes motorised vehicles...

I'll try & pop it here for those who haven't seen it, or can't be arsed to search.

Saw the Cure at Hyde Park the other yr, the same day England played in the Quarter final and won. Wonderful day. Didn't spot many goths though. Which was a bit sad. I think they're gone the way of the dinosaur.
Amidst all this propagation of diversity, surely not?

You could be right. The Bunnymen could have been a lot bigger.
Their lineup has changed too many times thru the years which for me anyway, changes the dynamic of a band. It's really just Ian McCulloch and maybe Will Seargent then over the years any number of different Bunnies, always think that weakened their argument as "the greatest Rock n Roll band in The World!"

Is the alabaster statue a representation of Jesus (to complement the cross) do you think?
Looks like it.
This was taken in 1999, the decoration was quite different when they were filming the documentary. I seem to remember big lions by the fireplace.

I can imagine him spending many a evening, sitting in the armchair opposite the framed photo on the wall, pint of vodka in one hand, bulbous salutation in the other.

2 of their drummers died so not much choice there but I agree nowadays it's just Ian and Will from the original line up.

If I had an hour with Morrissey, I’d ask questions around his spiritual beliefs and feelings. It seems rich territory; full of conflict and solace.

The driving shots I would say, were to make him look in control..
to have only a record player is a very morrissey thing to do, but I’ve read that he likes to confuse friends ECT, by constantly moving his furniture around...
He wants to be careful humping that clunky tat here there and everywhere, other wise he’ll slip a disc and won’t be able to preform ever again... then we’re all 4ucked😂

I read something about Goths the other day, apparently they’re trying to become a ‘protected group’ or something, so they can’t be the victims of ‘hate crime’.

Isn’t that just the law in general? Or is their a group than can be the victims of hate crime that I don’t know about?? White males, maybe I guess.

I would find/posts links to these things but it’s a right faff to do on a phone & I can’t be bothered.

Dreamt Moz was singing in my hotel room last night so thought I’d pop by. His new album is quite strong but record labels are notoriously fickle. Radio too. Even the legendary Johnny Cash was shunned by the industry when times and tastes changed in the 60s, 70s, 80s. Moz should really take no offense at this since it happens to almost every artist who lives long enough. If he’s willing to work with another label, even a smaller one, the opportunity will be there.
