Fiona Dodwell: "Morrissey reflects on 'the horror of 2020' after departure from BMG" (November 17, 2020)

Morrissey reflects on 'the horror of 2020' after departure from BMG.

BMG should surely be begging for Morrissey's hand for every future release he will produce.
For there lies true diversity: committing, with loyalty, to an individual who thrives as completely himself in a sea of conformity.

FWD.

Once the high water mark for stars, Bond themes are now less interesting than the music for John Lewis ads.

They are well on the way to becoming a laughing stock that established artists wouldn’t go near. Which partly explains why Eilish got the gig.
Garbage....... they started the ball rolling for shit bond songs...
I’m not a bond fan, but there has been some good songs over the years, Paul McCartney springs to mind as my fave , Adele sucked as well, Aha , Duran both acceptable .... and the winner is .... the girl from tiger bay .... but I’m no bond fan , so how could anybody know how I feel?

Low class riff raff work at the record label. 🤒
you dont need to be a brain surgeon to know this.:blushing:

The Garbage song is dire. Although the lyrics are Don Black’s I think.

Tomorrow Never Dies, by Sheryl Crow, was the first real stinker; inexplicably KD Lang’s far better effort (with the same title) was stuck on the end of the film.

The Casino Royale song is respectable—but it’s not a Bond song. Skyfall is the one great recent track. The others have been shocking.

Bassey did three songs; Diamonds are Forever being the best. Her last one, Moonraker, was intended for Frank Sinatra—her effort is brilliant, but it would’ve been perfect for Sinatra.

In Buenos Aires if Moz and The Smiths themes pass, more than once i travel by taxi to my work delighting myself with The boy..and the more you ig...i even go to a vegan vegetarian bar that Smiths and Morrissey always pass by ,that's why i love so much that place.
When the bar reopened they played 2 songs Panic and Ganglord and there was another fan of Moz and we both reacted with smiles and talked about how great Moz is ,we were so happy!!!!😍😍😍😍
Sounds like you need mental help, stalker.

Racist delusional cucks and c***s abound in Moz’s world.

RIP Moz and his cult followers. No one will mourn you, but millions will laugh at you.

I quite like the Garbage song but wasn't A'Ha's song the first real stinker?

I like it, it was also the last effort to involve John Barry. I don’t think the latter enjoyed working with Aha.

On the soundtrack, there’s a track called ‘Hercules takes Off’. This is Barry’s complete rearrangement of the Living Daylights music, without Aha, and it’s fantastic.

Funky. Hard to go wrong with a bit of Barry. This is from a film-noir by Wim Wenders in 1982. Always liked this theme. This is so off topic.

That’s fantastic, I’ve not heard it before. The clarinetist was apparently Ronnie Lang, I’ve just found out he worked with Hoagy Carmichael. The latter was who Ian Fleming said he wanted James Bond to look like.

Mum got a Hoagy Carmichael best off when i was a kid....always loved "Hong Kong Blues".

I think the headline was meant to refer to him "reflecting" in the Central post (which didn't include much reflection either).
It is a bit misleading, when I saw the article I thought for a second she had released the interview on The Postmillennial...
Yep I thought it might be an interview but it was just an opinion piece. Journalists who lie.... six feet under. The Art is dead.

I heard she never got it right, and the final version is a splice of 3-4 takes. It’s a hard one to nail.

My personal favourite Bond song is All Time High.
