In the 1 hour 40 min interview when Robert said some of the definitive versions of the songs from SOALW are the live versions, I really feel like that is the case for Endsong. Some of the live versions just pack more of an emotional punch, IMO.

This is brilliant set of songs, mostly old classics, which was a surprise to me.
There's not one single dud or filler in the whole set.
A band at the top of their game, at their age. Just wow.

i miss the days when you would have to go out and buy an album. it was always like an event: youd buy it, take it home and listen to the whole thing all the way through. now that you can just get it on youtube it seems so unceremonious that i usually just dont even bothering listening or ill listen to snippets at a time.

Otherwise it really is a very good album.
Easily their best since Wish.

I agree as far as an album as a whole. If you already like The Cure you're going to love this album and it may win over some new fans.

I'm a fair weather fan of The Cure. Only like the songs which have fantastic melodies e.g. Caterpillar, Pictures of You, Just Like Heaven, Catch.
Not a sufficiently big fan of Smith's singing or lyrics to enjoy lesser material, so guessing I won't much like this album.

A very good album, let down a little by its middle section. But easily their best since Wish, which had more great songs but also more lesser ones.

THE CURE’s long-awaited, critically acclaimed new album, SONGS OF A LOST WORLD, their first new release in 16 years, is out now. The band will be performing their only scheduled show of the year tonight at Troxy in London, which will be live streamed on The Cure’s YouTube page Show Of A Lost World The Cure Live At Troxy.

Tomorrow night, BBC2 will air a special evening of Cure programming to celebrate the release of ‘SONGS OF A LOST WORLD’.

I appreciate your thoughts. I mentioned that I thought Songs was not as dark as I was expecting and a cross between Disintegration and Wish. At the time Wish came out... I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't Distengration Part 2 and was "poppier" if you will and found Friday, I'm in Love completely throwaway. Over time though I've come to appreciate Wish a lot more. I stopped following The Cure once Wild Mood Swings came out (but remained a fan of the earlier stuff). It's nice to rejoin with this album.
