I am still CRYING laughing that they thought that the correct number of Morrissey swoon comments in the Durham thread is only ONE.

This is INCORRECT, and an absolute fallacy. The correct number of Morrissey swoon comments is exactly the total of FIVE comments I made, and they should have stayed all together in sequence!

It was like a lazy Sunday performance piece. I consider that i contributed a modular, multi-part polyptych to this site. And now by moving some of my incisive genius, but not all of it, to off-topic, it’s like showing half of my current oeuvre in Paris with the other half strewn halfway across the globe in Milwaukee!

I BREAKDOWN FOR MORRISSEY would be WAY too cutes, you know. I mean would the roads ever even be ready, to take on this level of ultimate cutes?? 😄

…that would lead to ultimate crashes. 🙃

Don't know if this is the place for this, but has anyone heard pixies new album? Maybe it's me, but it is very, very, very poor. It bordered on being quite painful listening to it. I didn't expect surfer rosa, doolittle etc, but this is baaaaad.

I guess so. But, to quote the pixies' Mr Grieves, do you have another opinion (re the stinker of a new album)?

I stopped at Trompe Le Monde. Though I did like Frank’s first 2 solo albums. Better to listen to Lust for Life or the Smiths debut, two of Franks favorites.

I thought the Pixies material from the aughts and 10s was consistently very good. It’s pretty polished, sound-wise: he can’t do his Little Richard/Robert Plant howling like he once did, but makes up for it in songcraft—and the production is slick and bright, similar to the California punk-pop style of Morrissey’s records with Jerry Finn. Indie Cindy is worth a listen. You may enjoy it.

Yeah one of my least favorite producers to have worked with M, is all I have to say. Sonically, Quarry could have been a great record, YOR is slightly better. Oh well.

I really only listen to other artists/bands best works, usually the early stuff. Of course there are a few exceptions, such as later work by Eno, Bowie, Scott Walker.

Why bother with mediocre efforts. Not me.

I guess, like a lot of bands imo, the quality of the pixies output has declined over the years...but I didn't expect this latest album to be so poor. Indie Cindy is worth a listen, though.

Better than you. I can afford the sales tax that will come with the tariffs. I feel bad for poor people who...actually I don't. Darwin's theory is alive and well. f*** you

I had no clue that the Democrats were the party of the obscenely rich, like yourself and Oprah, the elite and the intellectually and morally superior, like yourself and Oprah. You guys used to care about the poor, but from what your saying, you guys really just wanted to control the poor while you sat aloft and safe on your high place.

Your anger and superiority complex will eat you from the inside out, and that’s not the Orange Man’s fault or that of his grossest followers. It’s on you. Stop being brainwashed into bad health.

Same with me (though J. Chicc is worse). But I think we'd agree those records transcend their production. They're still great. Same thing for late era Pixies. The weird thing about Indie Cindy is that it was produced by Gil Norton, who produced Doolittle. I guess everyone involved must've wanted a more commercial sheen for whatever reason.

How do you know it's mediocre until you listen to it? The songs are really good. I rate Indie Cindy much higher than Trompe Le Monde.
