Moz can afford not to release any albums to the public. He's not skint. As long as Moz, Damon and Sam enjoy listening to them at home, he should keep going and record some more.

who says Damon enjoys them ?

Andrew Watt won the Grammy for Producer of the Year in 2o21. Plus, he doesn't work cheap. There is no way Morrissey is not going to try to use that cache and get a return on his big investment.

The more I listen to I am Veronica the more I like it! I feel the Bonfire album will be brilliant. I'm ready to love it. I have better vibes than I had before Dog. I hope we'll find less plastic drums and more guitars.

I think the delay is related to the fact that potentially interested record companies have to convince Morrissey to change the cover of the record, as well as the title. Very tough negotiations.

It is not a question of capacity utilization of vinyl pressing plants.

If that is the main issue then perhaps we have a chance of getting the new album. Morrissey would have to swallow some pride as he already announced the title as BOT. I'm more concerned that the issue is that he's burned too many bridges and major labels no longer wish to work with him. We may get some indication of where things stand when/if we get some actual info on the "I Am Veronica" single.

Well. we're now officially over the 1 year mark since 'Bonfire' was announced, and still no sign of any release. I was hoping the debut of 'Veronica' live might mean something is imminent, but we appear to have gone back to radio silence as far as this album is concerned.

It's not really about burned bridges and labels being reluctant to work with him. It's really just about whether UK radio will reverse what is effectively a boycott on playing his new material. This has had a drastic impact on sales, dropping them from a virtually guaranteed 50,000 albums (with Radio 2 A-list support) down to little more than 5,000.
If I was in charge of a record label I'd be in touch with Radio 2 saying "Here's 'I am Veronica', would you add this to your playlist?". If the response was, "Yes, almost definitely. It's a great song and we realise we overreacted in refusing to play anything off the last album", then you'd sign him straightaway. If the response was "Sorry, but Morrissey remains unbelievably toxic - we just can't get away with showing any support for him, at least not until he formally disassociates himself from far-right extremists which he has yet to do", then you'd steer clear.

I am also very disappointed. Claiming Veronica as the new single has given us some hope for a quick release, but there is no sign of it.
He should release the Album by himself or by a small indie label as Sanctuary in 2004.
He is already 63 and has not too much time anymore. In the summer months from June to September there is the best chance not to be stopped by the next covid wave… so waiting is not the best option! Oh well…

With the UK and Ireland tour being announced recently, is it naïve of me to hope the release of Bonfire is edging ever so closer? Maybe something similar to when Quarry was released where he releases the single, starts the tour, and releases the album through the tour. Obviously wishful thinking, but interesting to envisage. Can't believe he doesn't self-release.

You're now writing dialogue.

Bonfire of teenagers

Any idea who wrote the music? it's to old to be a new Alain co-write.

either way it's a great song.

p/s cannnot wait for any new Alain Whyte songs, he must have a few decent tunes tucked away.

DIANA DORS - Morrissey/Boz Boorer

Presumably he's been sending copies to record companies, and the guitarist on the album said he had a copy on his phone. Eventually the album will leak, even if it never gets an official release. It's just a matter of time.

Yeah, Josh on guitar.
Guess he said it was gettin' released.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but could Ha Ha Harlem be a tribute to London Boys? The lyrics seem to reference their song Harlem Desire
