And here we go again. This is just unacceptable, not an apology or (real) explanation. I really feel for the fans who have spent lots of money, some traveling from outside of the country. come on, Morrissey, these devoted fans deserve better.

Because you defend him no matter what and laugh at people who really rightfully criticize him.

Like I said, it’s gotten out of hand. And why would I be wrong “either way”?

They don't - they're quite hostile to anything that suggests he might be a little bit gay or not that right-wing.

Also - at one point they told someone they were supposed to be fighting with to take an indiscreet conversation to DM. Which did suggest the fights aren't real.

It’s sad that you find reasonable criticism of your favorite pop star laughable.
Well, you do. You’re notorious for being one of the biggest apologists here.
Strange, have been here since ‘97 and never heard anyone call me this, either then or now.

But no problem, keep the outrage going. Just don’t twist my words, that’s just silly.

Morrissey should and has been criticized for canceling at late notice for 40 years now and will continue to do so for the next 20 years or however long he has left.

Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.

More spite from Scum and his Scumettes.

Sydney seemed such a great show too! Glad you got to see him.
You know how they say don’t meet your idols? I wish I didn’t bump into him unfortunately. I was very respectful of his space but he wouldn’t even acknowledge that I existed. Everyone has bad days but he was beyond rude. Currently at the airport flying to Auckland lol. Honestly considering selling my LA tickets after that interaction as I am flying from AUS.

Nothing new here but obviously very frustrating for NZ fans. You'd imagine he'd take advantage of visiting somewhere that like, spend some time in such a far away place - the plebs like me who buy tickets in the UK will probably never visit OZ/NZ in their lifetime. I'll never buy another ticket whilst this record embargo farce goes on, it's clearly a result of his behaviour once again, only this time, 'they' weren't putting up with his shit and rightly so. Alain Whyte was great in Belfast the other week, I doubt he'd ever cancel.

He wouldn’t but then he doesn’t have the worldwide appeal to afford to do so.

Any news on Alain Whyte performing these shows in 2024?

There has been no 'factual' explanation given. Just the standard 'logistical reasons' and we know that is obviously bullshit. So, in fact, no explanation has been given.
I understand that any cancelled show is disappointing, but... what could he say without being instantly bashed? =>
Dengue infection: "Boo!! He lies, no dengue reported in the area!"
Band member has an injury: "Boo!! Take some pills and show up!"
Logistic issues: "Boo!! Poor planing, you s*#k you bunch of [&#%*^] !!!" 😕

Yes true, that’s horrible. What makes you think I would think otherwise? Same for people in Indonesia or South America. Hope they get to see him next year.

Because you post shit like this, stating the obvious without any empathy whatsoever for people who may never get the chance to see Morrissey ever again.

Anaheim will be the next show now.
Hope that one will work out.

Why the verbal abuse?
I do feel sorry for the people in Asia, South America, New Zealand and Nottingham.
Can you read?

Something is very broken here. I don't know what it is but they (Camp Morrissey) continue to schedule tours that Morrissey is either incapable or unwilling to complete. Why is that? Morrissey thinking he can do more than he can? Initial eagerness followed by a lack of motivation once the tour starts? Lower than expected ticket sales might sometimes be a factor but not always as sold-out shows are now canceled. There just doesn't appear to be any learning or improvement and the same "unforeseen issues" continue to happen.

I think some honesty from Morrissey would go a long way instead of the callous way these cancelations are handled. There will probably be a "victory lap" post on Central about how much he enjoyed the AU shows... but no acknowledgment or mention of the ones canceled.
Something was indeed wrong from the start. It is notoriously difficult for US and UK artists to make any money from touring in places like the Far East and Australasia, and to lose money fast. The transport costs for band and crew must be exorbitant. But clearly the problem is that Moz doesn't seem to have anyone sensible around him to tell him No or give him good advice.

When they’re offering him adulation en masse, the fans are wonderful. Otherwise, they are utterly inconsequential. “Logistical issues”: people would probably make do if he showed up and sang over a backing tape, a la Ian Brown. The only logistical issue is that he simply can’t be arsed. He needs humbling; hopefully LA cancelations due to poor sales will be a salutary lesson for him (jk: he’s incapable of learning, at this point his behavior patterns are set in stone, he’s on the fast track to Norma Desmond territory).

To be perfectly honest, they're not really missing much - 1.5 hours of the same decade(s) old setlist. The absences of Boz/Alain are glaring, which very few will admit. It's clearly a different story when he's visiting the far corners of the globe, as you've maybe never seen him, understandable. Get your refund and spend your money on someone who appreciates it.
