Thanks to Sean for the cap - no link to OP.

(via IG stories - now disappeared).

Wasn't there some sort of auction earlier this year of a microphone and passport photos that were supposed to be Morrissey but didn't really look like him?

Are both pictures in the passport book Moz? The bottom picture definitely lines up with the haircut he had sitting on the bonnet of that classic car with his aunt and cousins, but the top photo looks really different. Is he younger than 17 in that picture?

Maybe only due to recent events, but… on the second picture, the one with the Liverpool stamp, he really looks like young Alain Delon to me. The face, the hair, the shirt.

(but why Stephen not Steven?)

why is there two pictures never seen that before.
his height is also a bit iffy,5 ft 8in.

my son worked in one of these recycling places for a while, its amazing what people throw away.

i think this was thrown away by mistake, theres that much information on a passport that any crook would love to get their hands on it,was probably lost when they were clearing his mams house, kirstys fax was probably something they came across in the attic, theres been a few things in the last few months.

...because that's what's on his birth certificate and a passport must reflect the entries at birth.

...it's interesting that he obviously didn't adopt the garish stylistic excesses of Ye Olde Punk Rock. He looks like he could be a bass player in any number of bands of that time.

Punk rock was fun for about 6 weeks. Once the venerable Howard Devoto left Buzzcocks after 'Spiral Scratch' the morons ruined it all...

...it was very expensive to get to the United States of America in the 1970s. I flew there a few times with a few 'very naughty' Catholic priests...Loz Angeles. Boston. NYC. Frisco. New Orleans...on a Vatican 🇻🇦 passport but that's not pertinent to this fascinating story:

...how did Stevphen afford to get off to Colorado or whatever flyover nowheresville he thought was glamorous? I thought his mother was an impoverished part-time library assistant? 🤔

...very foolish to throw this in a skip, mt8...ring the passport office and they'll put a stop to this nonsense as the passport remains the property of The King Of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in perpetuity. Perhaps you could ask around, see if Charles 111 can stick his fcukin oar in...?

Not only mysterious - add: stolen!?
Central post regarding the passport:

I can't really believe anyone seriously thought they could sell this as 'memorabilia'.

Someone needs to find a way to return it to Morrissey, pronto.

Has this passport ever been seen? His hair, it’s bordering on New Romantic, I think. I see a dash of ‘70s American disco, too. (It was, after all, the height of the Saturday Night Fever era.) I’m assuming this was around the time he flew to America to see his aunt.

This’ll be on the 10th anniversary reissue of the cover for Bonfire Of Teenagers.

A bit of a Mick Ronson vibe going on in the photo?
It is an interesting thought - would The Smiths have been the success they were without Morrissey sporting a quiff? It was a very wise haircut decision - that just may have changed the course of musical history...

I honestly think no. The quiff was imperative.
