Many thanks to my lovely wife Lyn who came to my rescue on many an occasion and helped me make those important tough decisions

Dedicated to the memories of Melanie, who passed away soon after sending me her vocals, and Charlie Browne, my old tour manager, the reason we moved to Portugal in the first place.

Not enough thanks can be given to Morrissey, without whom none of the would have happened.

So Boz definitely has the studio version of Kit with Moz on vocals
It’s been so long, he’d have to have it to base this reimagined version on

It seems interestingly that the cover is in the exact same tempo and key as the original.

I laid the original vocals over the new instrumental, and it aligns almost perfectly without any alterations. There are some humming artefacts, but maybe an interesting listen.

My new driving instructor told me he is really into rockabilly (he has an upright bass tattoo). I told him about "Morrissey's guitarist" introducing rockabilly to his solo work. He said "Boz Boorer? I'm mates with him". I lost it in front of this guy, I was so excited. My instructor made a Facebook post about me being a new student and my reaction. Boz commented and said "He must be a discerning music fan". This was last week, and he showed me the comment on his phone. What's funny is, he knows as little about Moz as I do the Polecats.

Can't really imagine listening to many of these more than once with one exception - Trouble Loves Me. I really like the vocals from Nina Diaz.

MUCH better !

Wow. I prefer Corey Feldman reels.

Is Melanie literally dying? She sounds like a staggering drunk who grabbed the karaoke mic. God, I don't know that I've ever called a recording "cruel" before, but this makes me feel like I do when I watch Frankie Valli rolled out to lip sync at 90.

Maladjusted - ok, this one I kinda dig. The only way to cover Morrissey is to in NO WAY try to sounds like him. This is the perfect one do to, because he's basically talking in the original anyway.
Was watching Frankie Valli live on youtube earlier, very sad. He seemed totally lost and had about 4 backing singers doing the work. Total legend reduced to, well, almost miming.

Not almost - he does mime. He's been lip-synching at concerts for the past several years.

Fantastic!

In the World of Morrissey Boz is basically a musical god. He's cowritten some of my favorite songs of all time, and gave new life to Morrissey when he needed it. He has my respect forever, a "lifetime pass."

That being said, there are some artists that I just don't think make sense to cover because they are so idiosyncratic. Morrissey Without Morrissey just doesn't appeal to me. It just makes no sense to me.

The sound of this album feels very harsh and digital and processed to me, and that just is not really my kind of music. I like Boz when he's rocking and rolling. I'm not sure what this is. Like weird club remixes of Morrissey songs. I personally don't see what there is to enjoy here. Sounds like he had fun making this though.

What I find puzzling is that this is not just a collection of Boz's Morrissey songs, but even some from The Smiths. Weird. It's good to be unpredictable, but I think it would make more sense for it to be the songs Boz takes some literal ownership in as a co-author.

This whole thing is worth it just for the Ouija Board cover.
Lovin' how Melaine sings it kinda jagged.
She ain't goin' to the song, she's makin' the song come to her.
Only someone with her artistic accumulation can do this.
Gonna wait on really listenin' to the rest of'em, cause I just keep playin' the Melaine.

My favourites are Playboys, Jack the Reggae, Is It Really So Strange, I Can Have Both, London, Maladjusted, Everyday! Is like Sunday [lmao], and Satan

Maladjusted is the best of the lot! Lusty isn't just a mega fan & long time performer in his own right. He & Boz had Happy Martyr together. Amazing project there.
