To be fair these concerts weren’t even ever mentioned on his online platform. Morrissey clearly wasn’t very enthusiastic about doing them.

And it’s not as if he never gave public explanations for concert cancellations, remember the Dengue.

But he didn’t give the explanation for the Dengue. And no chance did he have Dengue. So it’s probably best his says little, rather then offer a cock n bull story.

What's the betting on any of the Mexico and South America shows going ahead? My guess is Mexico City might happen, just to surprise us, and maybe, just maybe, Buenos Aires and either São Paulo or Brasília, but not both - but I would be very surprised if Lima, Bogotá, or Santiago happen. But also wouldn't be surprised if all the dates are cancelled.

My guess would be they won’t happen—and the rescheduling was just an opportunity to kick some consequences down the road. Obviously, the issues ultimately only multiply, and get compounded—but that’s how it goes with the ‘self-defeating’ disposition.

My personal solace is that the as yet to be written book, The Strange Death of Morrissey (or some such), will recover all of this for a pop-star story unlike any other. Which is to say, I feel he’s cementing something which he’s actually been singing for decades. In some sense, it’s all his art I feel.

Yes. Although now it is not simply about money; NZ was sold out. He either doesn’t want to perform in front of an embarrassingly small amount of people (YATQ shows), or he has an extremely high amount of people to perform to (NZ) but cancels because he can’t be arsed to make the detour there.

I really don't understand the people saying that he should take time to sort himself out and they will be here when he gets back. He doesn't care. He is obsessed with writing ridiculous, meaningless bs for his site, even the obituaries are stupid and self serving. He has no regard for the fans at all. People need to understand that - they think they have this sort of symbiotic love relationship with him and it's completely delusional, these people are crazy.

I think the scariest facet of all of this, going back to last year, is fans allowing/forgiving him for not saying a word or acknowledging fans who have become severely out of pocket and/or accomodation due to these eleventh hour announcements.
