I think the scariest facet of all of this, going back to last year, is fans allowing/forgiving him for not saying a word or acknowledging fans who have become severely out of pocket and/or accomodation due to these eleventh hour announcements.

Morrissey has always fed off the feeling of the outsider, the depressed, the mentally ill, and that is mostly what he attracts. I cringe when people say he saved their lives, it's shows how sick these people really are, and we see them here on the site. Some of them totally lose their shit when you criticize him, these are not normal reactions. He knows people are abnormally devoted to him, to fill some void in their lives, and he exploits it. Then he writes some flowery bullshit for Central, and they swoon. Or he complains about someone on Central and they take up his cause. These people can't and won't think for themselves and that is how he gets away with things like this.

It is tempting to speculate that there is a part of Morrissey that, either consciously or unconsciously, wants his career to end this way. It comes up as a theme in several songs, although always hard to know if Moz is singing about himself or someone else, and his greatest hero, Oscar Wilde, is the patron saint of career self destruction. I say just stop the touring, get both the albums released however is possible and then travel around and enjoy yourself.
See all the places you’ve always wanted to see, stop watching the news, do some painting or writing. (have a crack at another novel or something to do with music history) Open a cat shelter in Istanbul or a bar/ vegan restaurant.
