As you acknowledge, it remains within his power.

But, it seems that he wants the full stop to look like this: convalescing in Switzerland, with a wayward nephew playing the Elisabeth Forster role—as he waits for life to catch up.

I don't think he's had enough information to want this - I don't think it would have lurched so wildly & I don't think he would have been so shocked if he'd known what he was involved in.

So - the path is there - but he can't see it.

And I don't think Central wants him to see it.

So, that's probably that.

I'm not sure why there's a disparity between the audio in the YT video and low BR MP3 tracks verses the 24-Bit, 48.0 kHz FLAC version of Rebels Without Applause. If you have a decent DAC and headphones the HQ version I provided in the downloads section has extremely clear sound. You can hear some 'processing', but not as huge or abysmal as asserted here often.
FWD.

The notion that he couldn’t care less about anything that goes on, beyond singing, does seemed affirmed by the first LIHS sleeve art. I really couldn’t believe it.

It's probably that he cares so much it's overwhelming - so he ignores it - then it just gets so bad that anyone would find it overwhelming.

I don't think he'll want to confront SER & SER is Laurence Easeman level (I guess).

Someone did that here some months ago ! God bless that person!

I mean, was there ever an expectation for Morrissey to truly embrace monarchism ?

I might not be the best person to talk about this topic, since messages such as "Axe the Monarchy" never struck me as being particularly shocking. After all, the French have this curious penchant of beheading their monarchs every so often…

Still, I find it difficult to imagine – perhaps someone can enlighten me on the extent of reaction which it might have provoked –I would be curious to hear.
Though I may need to tap into my empathetic senses, for that, something which quite visibly I lack to a certain degree. :p

What's a "Bavarian cheese whistle", something out of the Cyrus woman. How does it like pertain to anything in my life ? "The woman of my dreams, she never came along. The woman of my dream, well, there never was one."!

It's because the design looks cheap & tacky.

Not a stylish take on cheap & tacky. But actually cheap & tacky. Like he's going to go on an 80s revival tour with The Fizz, Black Lace & a tribute to the music of Russ Abbot.

I would like to hear what things Morrissey has said that people think is most shocking. I have yet to hear anything that shocks me, as a new fan.

You’re not wrong, hahah – it does look very pop-ish, but it’s still far from being the worst – I just find it very mild in that sense.

It seems like Morrissey’s album covers are going downhill over the years, just as the musical production behind his vocals, which is a shame.
I suppose this Central photo is the cherry on top… it had me laughing a lot when I found the stock image used for it.

A few years ago, he said that people ultimately prefer their own race. Whether or not he’s right or wrong is beside the point. He needn’t be saying stuff like that in public.

He said that killing animals by slitting their throat open and letting them bleed out was cruel.

Absolutely shocking level of bigotry
To be fair, the western treatment of animals is no better. Absolutely sickening, in fact.

It's a great title. Moz and The Smiths have been a huge part of teenage culture since the 1980s. And the iconography of both has often centred on teenage culture going back to the 50s and 60s. Why wouldn't Moz want to write a song about such a terrible event in Manchester that he feels was minimised? Is it because the title makes you uncomfortable? It's supposed to.
It really is a dumb title. Another bad one is Kill Uncle.
