Name another major (or minor) artist who has released a live album with a photo not even within 10 years of that particular performance. It is unprecedented. So for anyone who thinks we are just picking on Morrissey, I think we would be doing the same thing with any artist, if they had the audacity to make such a blunder. Thankfully, I don't believe any other artist has done such a bone headed thing. Prove me wrong.
Maybe someone like Madonna, but not entirely sure on that one. Are you feeling okay?

A true fan could not like a photo attached to a performance that occurred 14 years earlier. Impossible.

Whether or not he thought he looked "good" is irrelevant. You simply cannot attach photos to a release that don't coincide! It is preposterous to think you can, It is insane. It renders the re-release unbuyable because it is not an accurate document of that time period. I am embarrassed for Morrissey, he seems to enjoy destroying his legacy.

But you got the gist of those unreleased albums. Do you honestly think they're going to be good? If you do, I think you are in denial. Maybe you're thinking a garbage Morrissey album is still worthwhile, because I think we know...

Bit of a mixed bag, but I really like I Live In Oblivion (touches on raw emotions for me), Saint In A Stained Glass Window, I Am Veronica and The Night Pop Dropped.

The voice, the voice. Always the voice.

No one else comes close. Even after all these years.

Oh, and I’m intrigued to hear him sing Suspicious Minds.

Oblivion is a cliche'd and obvious observation that no one asked for. Veronica is nonsensical and repetitive. I can probably get by fine without hearing those songs ever again. I understand that you probably just want to "collect" those albums but after a month, you probably won't really listen to those new songs. Heck, not even Morrissey wants to hear them or sing them anymore.

The voice, the voice sounded like it was artificially enhanced with helium on Rebels Without (but with) Applause.

Sad beyond words from somebody whose band "The Smiths"'s singles, lps, etc. had the most, original, memorable and brilliant artwork ever seen.. Right out of the gate as a solo artist the artwork of Morrissey's solo output continued that tradition. Just peruse a copy of "Peepholism" if you can find one, to see just how far from that things have become. This "BWD" cover is an abomination.
'Abomination' is a tad hyperbolic - but I would certainly agree that it's a very poor album cover.

Oh well, each to their own.

It’s not “surrender”. I don’t agree with you, but there’s not a lot of point arguing about it. It’s completely subjective.
Fair enough. I don't really agree with the subjective argument because then you could say Nickelback songs are as good as The Beatles...and not be wrong. I always to take a stand. I get you though and I will buy the new albums if they ever get released but for me, it won't be like buying Your Arsenal or Vauxhall and I.

I agree, it won’t be like buying Your Arsenal or Vauxhall and I. But he was younger, we were younger… the world was a different place. I went to the record shop and paid over the counter with cash!

OK, you do have a point about the “subjective” argument. Some things are just obviously, objectively better than others. But I still feel that you’re being too harsh on these “new” songs. And I will not accept that I Live In Oblivion is remotely clichéd. I’d say, in the context of (un)popular music, it’s the absolute opposite.

Hi - I have a copy of Peepholism. I love it. Got it for a 21st birthday present nearly 30 years ago now. Still looks great.
I treasure the copy I bought at Tower Records three decades ago. It's a gem of a book

Fair enough. More of a poor choice than an abomination. That photo would make a great cover to a live album from the tour pictured, not from one performed and recorded decades ago

It is sad that such an obvious statement has to be explained to people! But yes, a tour photo from a show 14 years after the performances presented is an asinine and inexcusable choice.
