All UK/European gigs postponed due to "logistical circumstances beyond our control" - management

As I mentioned earlier today, this has now come to pass.

NEWS// Morrissey tour statement.

Due to logistical circumstances beyond our control, the UK/European Morrissey concerts scheduled for July will be postponed.

We deeply regret any inconvenience to the fans and promise to reschedule UK and European dates as soon as possible.

All original purchasers from official ticket outlets will have the full ticket fee refunded, including booking fee, to their credit/debit cards. Refunds from ticket agents will be actioned from midday on Monday 2nd July.

The LIHS World Tour will continue, starting back up in Mexico City on November 23rd.

Watch for more dates to be added soon!

The LIHS World Tour has been Morrissey’s most successful tour to date, having achieved record business for the artist in both the U.S. and the UK.

You use the word racist in Europe to control people because for now it stops people from contradicting you and it makes you feel important. If Europe ever comes to its senses they will solve the immigration issue instead of using it as a weapon against each other. Lets call a spade a spade. The word racist has never come up in conversation in my whole life in the US If you call someone a racist in the US , it is extremely insulting and no one would talk to you again. To be fair, it's hard to tell these days how many tickets any venue has actually sold due to the secondary sellers. It's entirely possible they had hoovered up a big chunk of those tickets and had failed to sell a number of them on - but we have no way of knowing how many.

I agree that cancelling the European dates is a little odd. Maybe it's down to a fit of pique about low sales generally, rather than the gigs not being viable.

Quite possibly, plus the issue of over-exposure perhaps. Like most pop musicians nowadays the only decent money to be had for Morrissey is through touring and merchandise but each time he goes on the road he is subject to the law of disminishing returns just like anyone else.

Pop stars, journalism, toy retailers, pound shops. The internet effect has been wide ranging in the damage it has meted out.

Of all the music acts affected it seems only Radiohead have really got the internet era right.

I'm in Manchester the following weekend and was GUTTED to be missing Moz (I booked hotel and flights before the tour was announced). So glad I am now that I didn't reschedule everything to suit Moz. What a balls for ticket buyers.

Within hindsight, that was the wise thing to do. Any Moz fan should have acquired this wisdom by now. Go and see him whenever he shows up in a reasonable distance from your home town. Or when you travel a longer distance, make sure to have plenty of other reasons to make the trip. I traveled to Berlin (from Brussels) in 2016 and spent a week in this lovely city. But he announced his concerts so late this time and I had already made other plans for this period. Otherwise, Finland / Sweden certainly are attractive destinations. UK wasn't really an option this time, as I already went to Brixton earlier this year, not sure what the atmosphere would have been like at those gigs this time around.

So I am happy about my own decisions, less happy with the turn of events as I now don't expect to see Morrissey in the UK / Europe for at least a couple of years. There surely was a reason why the Palladium gig was as good as it was, as if deep down he knew...

I am sad to say I'm not surprised by the cancellation. I for one am only a young morrissey fan in comparison to some on this site. I take no intrest in the mans views I care only for the music. I am awaiting my refund.

Sadly the music isnt what it used to be, gone are the days of spring heeled jim and other classics. 95% of fans buying tickets do not care for the new music. They want to hear the classics not some 2 bit rendition of the bullfighter dies.

Morrissey has lost his core fanbase not through the statements (they may of played a part) but through fan neglect, bizzare song choices, refusal to self reflect on the band among many other things.

As clear as it is that Skinny is as mad as a box of frogs, it still irks me to have been called a racist, even from such a f***tard. For the record, I have never voted UKIP or BNP or Tory for that matter, Corbyn got my last vote.

But let's be clear, there is a problem with Islamic extremism around the world now and more worringly for me, close to the area where I live so it is a daily concern.

I said the Catholic Church which is an institution and then I said in society, that is more of a concern as it is harder to prove, an institution in theory can be or should be investigated more thoroughly.

My personal worry is for society or the community as I am not a Catholic and my kids aren't part of that institution.
