All UK/European gigs postponed due to "logistical circumstances beyond our control" - management

As I mentioned earlier today, this has now come to pass.

'Logistical issues'.

From @gigsandtours / Twitter:

NEWS// Morrissey tour statement.

Due to logistical circumstances beyond our control, the UK/European Morrissey concerts scheduled for July will be postponed.

We deeply regret any inconvenience to the fans and promise to reschedule UK and European dates as soon as possible.

All original purchasers from official ticket outlets will have the full ticket fee refunded, including booking fee, to their credit/debit cards. Refunds from ticket agents will be actioned from midday on Monday 2nd July.

The LIHS World Tour will continue, starting back up in Mexico City on November 23rd.

Watch for more dates to be added soon!

The LIHS World Tour has been Morrissey’s most successful tour to date, having achieved record business for the artist in both the U.S. and the UK.

Seeing the amount of bashing that goes on from certain "Morrissey fans" I felt I needed to say something. I understand at the confusion & upset that some people have over gigs being cancelled & misunderstanding Morrissey quotes.

Morrissey is not a racist, he talked about Tommy Robinson & For Britain in terms of "Free Speech" & political correctness. There are things about Islam that need talking about. Halal is slaughter (animals have throats slit & left to bleed out in agony). For Britain said they would have this banned as well as forced marriage of underage girls etc. The members of FB are not Nazis, Anne marie waters was a member of UKIP, her only issue is some of the practises of extreme islam, Morrissey mentioned her because she as stood up & spoke about the concerns others have had but are not allowed to say.

Morrissey hates Trump, loves people of all backgrounds. What he says gets twisted & sometimes it comes out not the way he intended. I've always thought that Moz maybe had a form of autism (like my partner) highly intelligent but can say things off the cuff not realising how others will take it.

Please read and think before you dump him after all these years. You know he's a good person with a good heart. Question everything you read & remember the press in this country lie (look at the grooming scandals & Hillsborough etc).

It’s really cute watching fans try to do mental gymnastics to justify the shit that has come out of Morrissey’s mouth of late. However you try to paint the picture, the shit he has said is disturbing to many of us, and it displays a trend of being further and further out of touch with reality; he truly is destroying his own career and oddly it feels almost deliberate. How one (unless they agree with the islamaphobia and the far-right) does not find his comments repugnant suggests either a lack of a moral compass or being so blinded by devotion to our Dear Leader that they are willing to bury their head in the sand.

I’d agree with most of this. Of course, Morrissey doesn’t always help himself as we’ve been saying for years, and these cancellations have given his political enemies a much needed sliver of good news in the face of the onslaught their globalist banking heroes such as Merkel and Macron are facing at the ballot box and in the polls.

What hasn’t yet been explained is that if poor ticket sales are the reason, and I’m not convinced bearing in mind the Reading show, for example, was virtually sold out, is why a “controversy” over a British political party virtually nobody even here has ever heard of might be a problem for sales in Europe?

I think the issue is more likely to be he’s on an almost permanent tour with material much of which would have struggled to make a b-side even fifteen years ago.

And let's talk about this free speech thing. It seems that some persons' version of free speech is to demean and abuse people for something they cannot change about themselves, be it skin colour, sexuality, disability. My version of free speech is to call out bigots.
You're on a witch hunt that makes McCarthy look like Mother Teresa.
Thicko.

And you are a good person? Do you turn a blind eye to child rape, FGM, terrorism etc.

Has the Muslim grooming gang not been exposed in Bradford yet? I suppose we wouldn't know would we?

It has to be possible to talk about extreme Islam without automatically labelling all Muslims in the same way or being called a Nazi.

Here's a list of people you'd identify with. They all got nicked for being paedos. Guess what affiliation they have in common?

Who are you speaking for certainly not for me. Smiths & Moz fan from 1982 and sadly only saw the Smiths live once Barrowlands lost count many times i have saw Moz live however not enough. This july tour had tickets for 4 gigs however knew all this BS by certain people to spoil an event would always derail a great tour again. First time posting and the people who know best and abuse everyone please do not call me a racist as free speech is important to all. Just on the off chance can someone explain why this site is called Morrissey Solo as to many nasty people with abuse for Moz and many Marr lovers renaming the site be a good idea.

from the Netherlands, was 18 in 1983, feel sort of empty, never seeing the Smiths live, saw Morrissey first time at his Kill Uncle Tour may 1 1991, everyone has been through cancelled shows, me too. I didn't attack or called Morrissey whatever, and speak for meself, slow down and read again, the reason for cancel the whole july tour is doubtfull.

im with you on the ticket sales, anybody who thinks Morrissey cant sell out the usher hall in Edinburgh with a capacity of 2900 is living on the moon,M has always had a really strong following in Scotland and would easily sell out that venue.

So people not endorsing his political views and/or the mediocrity of his last efforts are in the minority ? Don't know if he could make up for the former but he surely can get back to work to win back the latter. Something he hasn't done in years. After his successful second coming he took his public for granted. Surprise ! they're not sheep accepting to follow their idol everywhere.
And it's also good news to see that free speech of hate is still in the minority.

Wait. UncleSkinny has the entire state at his disposal to hound Morrissey? And here's me thinking you were being hyperbolic!
Hound? haha He certainly looks and talks like one.
Of course luckily people like Skinnyhead and their narrowminded ilk have no power whatsoever (except on this little corner of the internet...) yet were they to have any they would certainly not be above hunting down, arresting and imprisoning people based on 'supposed racism'. Just look at any of his imflammatory posts here, if you still can, cause most of them are hidden due to their vile nature.

Gutted.
I know he has said things I, and many others don’t agree with, but I love his music and that is what I was going to see. He will only be around for so long.
He must now realise he has f***ed Up massively, these concerts weren’t even necessary as the Palladium show was a fantastic end to his most successful tour.
I won’t be suprised if he threatens not to return to UK (though we all know how that turned out last time).

I expect Dave Haslam and all of Morrissey’s many critics will now rejoice inntheir victory, and I suppose hopefully it will be the knocking deg a peg Morrissey needed after expecting his fanbase to follow him into murky waters.
But who loses?
Morrissey obviously. He is quickly tearing apart his most worthy attribute; his loyal and fanatic fan-base.

The band. Loss of earnings for comments they did not make, wouldn’t suprise me if some shuffling was done, as this seems to be the first time that gigs have been cancelled seemingly due to low sales/bad press, rather than illness/forgetting to wear a jumper.

Most of all though, the loving fans who wanted to go to these gigs such as I.
It may sound selfish, but we have come off worst here. Our hero tests our loyalty and morals with far right sympathies, the concerts we save money and wait patiently for are cancelled, all the while the press and people such as Dave Haslam blast Morrissey, casting a shadow on all those that still enjoy his music.

What a f***ing shame.
Well said Sir, I feel exactly the same, I was out last night for a few pints(or two)and woke up to this ahh FFS

Indeed. He sold almost three thousand in rural Berkshire.

Thank you.
Just reading it back to its clear i was out drowning my sorrows aswell with the spelling/grammar errors :sweatsmile:
What a shite thing to kick the weekend off with, and it is only going to get worse, more ‘celebs’ will sit on their high horse and laugh at Morrissey (and by association his long suffering fans) and Morrissey will inevitably respond to this personally, which is likelt to do more damage.

Cowardly twat. Glad I went to the Palladium, a throwback gig to why Morrissey matters/ mattered.

Did anyone go to see Shed 7 at their sold out Castlefield Bowl gig tonight, just out of interest?

To be fair, it's hard to tell these days how many tickets any venue has actually sold due to the secondary sellers. It's entirely possible they had hoovered up a big chunk of those tickets and had failed to sell a number of them on - but we have no way of knowing how many.

I agree that cancelling the European dates is a little odd. Maybe it's down to a fit of pique about low sales generally, rather than the gigs not being viable.

Outrage as Pop act cancels gig amid speculation of low ticket sales due to controversial comments and protest concerts.

Seems to me reading everyone on this site taking chunks out of each other trying to win an unwinnable argument for the hollow victory (well played Mr Haslam) knows nothing about the real reason for the postponement and I doubt a protest dance party concert in Manchester and his controversial, but perfectly entitled to make, views on whatever have no bearing on people in Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Jeez this guy's been doing that for years, so what's changed now? Is it the public name checking of For Britain or Tommy Robinson. I doubt it. On the latter, all right liberal minded people in a democracy like the UK should question somebody being summarily removed to jail whatever their views.

Anyway no doubt this post will be subject to the usual bile and insult. People used to come here for the music, oh yes the wonderful music- remember that? but the fascist left have taken over so I'm out. I'd advise others to do the same and just enjoy what you enjoy. Yes I am a pink ham.

It's a bit difficult logistically to set up touring for 3 dates only, that's why they had to be scrapped too.
But they are more likely to be rescheduled than the UK ones as more European dates will most likely be added.
My guess is September/October.

There are scumbags on the left, right, centre, black, white, Christian, Muslim etc but there are many areas now where Muslim grooming gangs have raped white children, I think it is important to use the words Muslim and white in that sentence before you pounce on it.

There are problems in the Catholic Church with paedos too but in society you don't really get many Christian grooming gangs do you?
