Press release just gone out ... here’s the bit about tour dates ...

———————
Now, as part of the next stage of Morrissey’s new album launch, two Morrissey UK arena concerts have been confirmed as well as dates in Cologne & Paris. He also plays the Palladium Cologne on the 9th March and the Salle Pleyel in Paris on 11th March.

SJM Concerts will promote the dates. Ticket links and more show info can be found at www.gigsandtours.com, www.ticketmaster.co.uk or www.axs.com/uk.

Tickets to the shows will go on-sale to the public on Friday January 24th at 9am. An exclusive pre-sale will take place starting on Tuesday, January 21st at 9am for those fans who have pre-ordered the ‘I Am Not A Dog On A Chain’ album in advance through Townsend Music.

These new tour dates follow the critically acclaimed performances of Morrissey’s recent U.S. Tour in Autumn of 2019 with special guests Interpol. The 30 date tour drew large crowds and received rave reviews across the country.

This new limited run of shows, set to kick off the launch of the ‘I Am Not A Dog On A Chain’ album, promise to be not-to-be missed affairs if reaction to Morrissey’s 2019 U.S. dates is any indication. Press who covered the U.S. Autumn tour raved about the powerful performances as some of Morrissey’s best ever, while continually commenting on the strength of his “ageless” vocals.

Today, 1.FC Cologne played against Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga. 50000 people attended. We do have 66 infections in a 80 Million country. So what are we talking about?

Well, there are 57 infections in France (population 67 million) and they did ban events with more than 5000 attendees so it's not completely unreasonable to discuss the possibility of the same thing happening in Germany as well.

I just checked the website of Palladium-koeln. Tonight's concert (the neighborhood) has been postponed, tomorrow's concert has been moved to Life Music Hall. I am not certain that it is duee to Coronavirus.

As for Morrissey's gig, we won't know until the very last moment. Understandable in this case, I would say.
i just read that cologne now has its first two corona cases.
cologne's world-biggest fitness fair, fibo, has been postponed to the 2nd half of the year which sounds logical.

Scaremongering at its finest. You seem somewhat desperate for these concerts to fail.

scary news from cologne:

a) in the cologne cathedral the holy water stoups remain empty.

b) two more people, fire-fighters, from cologne are reported to be corona positive.

this makes 4 corona cases in cologne....alone!

Jesse was also tweeting about airport dresscodes and similar at JFK.

I will almost bet my life that at least some of these shows will end up being canceled, if not due to a particular country banning public events, then due to Morrissey himself deciding not to play as he is a well documented germophobe. The number of cases in the UK has more than doubled in less than one week, and this appears to be escalating throughout Europe, rather than tapering off or slowing down. Unless this outbreak dramatically shifts (it looks like this is heading more towards pandemic) I honestly can't see Wembley happening.

You can’t help it, can you. Desperate for the concerts to be cancelled and desperate to say “I told you so”. You malign individual.

12 more cases announced on BBC today...rising from previous 23, so total at this time in UK is 35, just to keep the statisticians happy.

Yeah, true, but wasn’t it only less than a week ago it was about 9 cases?

Worse case scenario isn't some of the shows being cancelled - it's being at the show, then finding that the place has been quarantiend due to some one testing positive for coronavirus, and you have to spend the next 6 weeks stuck with a few thousand other Morrissey fans. I think I'd rather die.

Moz should go ahead with Wembley, even if he has the plague & it's only me, Hovis & Bookish Boy in the audience, because if he doesn't play the UK soon he'll get superstitious about it.

(& also Leeds, but if you have to sacrifice one... ).

Just got an email from gigsandtours clarifying timing of the Wembley show:
6:00pm doors
8:00-8:40 pre-show videos
8:40 Morrissey
11:00 curfew

basically, same times as usual. not sure, but maybe this information was just given from the Moz team to gigsandtours and hopefully is a sign that, as of now, they intend on going through with the shows.

Same.

I was hoping he might have made some effort & found a band or singer who wasn't shunning him. But, that would be making life easier for himself.
