Alain Whyte and band mini Ireland tour (August 21, 2023)

The BIG news is here and we're so excited to finally share it with you. We will be playing some very select live shows later this year in the following cities/venues:

29 November - Belfast, Northern Ireland (Ulster Sports Club)
1 December - Cork, Ireland (The Pavilion)
2 December - Dublin, Ireland (Whelans)

The gigs will feature my band of all-stars most of you already know and love:

Craig Gannon - guitars
Gary Day - bass
Spencer Cobrin - drums
Gustavo Manzur, Jr. - keyboards

We'll be playing sets filled will songs we've all been involved in (either written, co-written and/or played on) as well as a surprise or two each night which you won't want to miss.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (25 August at 10am GMT) via AlainWhyteMusic.com/tour & Eventbrite.ie

More info will follow, so please stay tuned. We really can't wait to play for you all!

Thank you for the kind words. May not have been intended as rude.
This. Could be wrong but I think it is far more likely that Mike just didn't realise you were a friend of Alain/photographer etc.

Thank you for the kind words. May not have been intended as rude. I like to give the benefit of the doubt… sometimes things just come across differently online. No offense taken to the question, but thank you :)

For better or worse, I’ve been tasked with organizing and handling a fair share of the logistics for these shows. Good luck to us all 😉
Apols, dneuer. I don't follow this site very closely, and know very little about who anyone is beyond their online personas.
'Who the heck' is a jokey phrase (to me at least) and an exclamation mark at the end adds to its light-heartedness.
'Who the hell are you?' would have been a bit unpleasant/aggressive.
You give some great contributions and insight so thanks a lot for that and keep up the good work.

I'll be at the Dublin gig.

Also - the Quare Fellow is on at the Abbey.
The Cork date clashes with my nieces' big end of year concert in a West Kerry theatre, and I'm due to be in Cork for the Dublin date, to support a nephew I've been promising to see in live action for years at a sports fixture he's participating in. I can't let them down especially after a series of premature deaths directly affecting our family circle this year. No doubt Morrissey-solo-&-co-&-co-&-co will be inundated with precise reports. Have fun! :guitar:

Morrissey’s former guitarist and once principle songwriter, Alain Whyte is set to perform three dates across Ireland before 2023 is out.

Neither is Marr, but here we are. My issue is he hasn't got the songs other the Morrissey co-writes. I'm guessing the set list will consist mainly of them and covers.

Lol
Marr has a fantastic career. I don't think any big name is lining up to have Alan on stage with them or being asked to write music for a Nolam film. At least Johnny wrote the Smiths songs and can still play them, unlike Alan. I think Marr can sing as well, not as good as Moz sure but way better than Alan. Also his words are better than hamburger fingers Alan

Makes sense, as if Morrissey doesn't control what the tour manager does. Give me a break. He's always had someone else do his dirty work, but the buck stops with the Mozzer.
I know, totally. the only people who do not accept it was down to Moz are the cult types .
The amount of hatred on here for Jesse and Donnie. Sure they may not be very nice but they they do not control Moz not one bit
Moz could have listened to AW, he couldn't care less. The proof is in the pudding. AW said why he left Moz knows. If he gave a care about AW he could have contacted him and sorted the issues out. He didn't care
The huge mistake Moz made, was not getting back with Johnny
He should have done it after World Peace, life would be very different for him now

I'm not a fan of Alain's lyrics or the way he sings his own songs, but I think he sings the Morrissey and Smiths songs really well (for some reason), way better than J Marr.
Check out his version of Well I Wonder.
It's flipping gorgeous.

Hi Alan
I see you're in Ireland, busy disarming lone loonies? Good man.

If Morrissey is not drunkflying* to Japan with Jesse, be careful, he might be rioting in a Dublin street near you. Do not approach him, he's not in a musical mood.

*yes, it's a thing. Well in M's world it is, anyway.

And who do we have here?
