UK Chart Position statement - Morrissey Central (31 May, 2019)

UK Chart Position. - Morrissey Central
May 31, 2019

"Given the inexhaustible Hate Campaign executed against me by The Guardian and their followers, I am pleased with the UK chart position for "California son".
BUT WHO WILL GUARD US FROM THE GUARDIAN?
No one, it seems.

It is worth noting that their chief antagonist in this Hate Campaign is someone I took to court some years ago for writing lies about me. He lost his court battle then, and now he's seeking his personal revenge by using The Guardian, who have been harassing everyone and anyone connected with my music imploring them to say something terrible about me for print. This is the open face of Soviet Britain.
Please do not buy this wretched hate-paper, whose every 2019 utterance echoes the late Mary Whitehouse.
It is the voice of all that is wrong and sad about modern Britain."

@Surface If you dislike Morrissey and his current views so much then why won't you move on? Post after post of you getting enjoyment at the idea of his album not doing well. It's poor behavior and speaks to an unhealthy pathology

f*** off saying soviet Britain to me

You just be grateful there’s freedom of speech on solo, where unlike in Soviet Britain there’s a lot of things one can’t say.

What can’t you say? Orrrr you mean be openly racist. Hmm, yeah you can’t do that here, sorry. Might be commonplace where you’re from, wherever that is. You still fail to answer.

I’m from Moz.

@Surface

@ordinaryboy86

I see you two have rated a mere opinion of mine ‘troll’ sorry I triggered you both, but I guess now I have to stoop to your level and return in kind.

:tiphat:

Top 10 for Morrissey, is not a success. Anywhere from #5-8 isn’t even a success. I said the other day, he averages a 3.5 chart position across his 11 previous studio albums. Some flop, but the majority easily make top 3. Infact 6 of his 11 albums have been top 3! Another two have been #4. That’s the bar. You should be judged against your biggest successes. You’re just another docile fan who’s stretching the parameters of mediocrity even further, till one day you’ll be saying, “how the f*** is top 40 not a success!”

Two things.
1. Morrissey is celebrated far more for his lyrics than for his singing ability. So a covers album is basically Morrissey with one hand tied behind his back as the album contains no new original Moz lyrics which have always been his main selling point.
2. Covers albums are kinda seen as optional anyway by casual fans. People assume that they are either cynical cash-grabs or self-indulgent passion projects made more for the artists' own enjoyment than for the fans. They're not "official cannon".

Given those two things, 4 is a perfectly respectable showing.

Thanks for stating the obvious

And all he has is is playground insults. Absolutely pathetic.

When he run out of facts, all he has left is insults...

Good bit of self-reflection there.
Talk about projection!

I despise bigots and racists. It really is as simple as that. And I want to see bigots and racists realise the error of their ways. I have a load of stuff in my life, but one of my hobbies is calling out bigots and racists. Morrissey, with his pre-emptive strike is just finding out that bigotry doesn't sell. I'm amazed you even have to ask that. I despise bigots and racists. Morrissey belongs to that group. I will. Not. Stop.

That last bit really didn't need the FULL STOPS.
As for showing them "the error of their ways", your method simply does not work rather it has the opposite effect.
Argue/debate but don't just criticise.

the UK is still listening Moz well this small part of South Wales is so nice to see you have yet another top 5 album

don't worry about the haters the real people in the UK are still behind you

will be visiting spillers records in the morning with a great big smile on my smug face

And you've spent your entire adult life totally obsessed with him - singing his songs on the You Tube, appearing on national TV answering questions about him (your specialist subject), buying the posters, the t-shirts, the CDs, having the hair, the clothes, attending the concerts. All your friends, family and colleagues (everyone you've ever met) associating you with him. The single biggest influence on the whole of your life - a toxic, right wing bigot. What a total and utter time-wasting wanker with appalling judgement that shows you to be.
Lol!
