Crazed fans who seize and hang upon every word Morrissey carefully and deliberately says.
It's like Trump denying any responsibility for the behaviour of The Proud Boys and those other clowns storming the White House

Trump AND the f***ing Proud Boys?

That is much more likely to be Donnie Knutson's politics than Morrissey's.

There is so much spin & fabrication around Morrissey's words & songs on Central & through the fanbase that it's very likely that those fans are doing what someone else wants.

It’s not cool to post a picture of someone that you hate on your website and blame them for destroying your career. Especially with unstable music fans. It is a thuggish thing to do. Like Trump posting Obama’s address so a nut can show up and try to kill him which is exactly what happened.

I would think that Capitol told Scott Rodger to release that information. It's not cool for Moz to unfairly single out Capitol CEO Michelle Jubelirer on his website, putting her picture out there for any crazy fan to get at. As someone on this site put it, he's bullying a woman in a way that makes her vulnerable to being a target. The plane stunt probably set off alarm bells.
If a fan is crazed enough to rent a plane to fly over your place of work, it has to be slightly concerning about what level of harassment things are going to progress to next. Especially with Morrissey sharing videos of the event next to photos of the executive in his target.

Yes, it's 'unprofessional' on one level for an ex-manager to leak emails, but it's also highly unprofessional for Morrissey to be spreading a false narrative in public, and trying to drag Capitol's name through the mud with his conspiracy theory nonsense. I'm guessing his ex-manager also feels that his reputation is being tarnished by this, so wants to get the facts out there for the fans to see.

At this stage, I really think the best thing for him to do is leak the entire email chain, and let people decide for themselves who is responsible for the album not being released.

No.

What's ridiculous is that Morrissey won't admit that Capitol are legally prevented from releasing BoT due to the presence of Miley's vocals.

Nice attempt to shift the blame onto Miley though.

It won't work.

Morrissey didn't want Miley's involvement for artistic reasons. He wanted her involved so he could put her name on the sleeve in an attempt to garner more sales and publicity.

Sad!
She approached him, but yeah, obviously publicity would have been an important factor for Morrissey.

While it's not impossible Moz would have demanded Capitol release the album as is despite the cease and desist letter, it seems more likely to me Morrissey wanted to wait to release the album and see whether Columbia would authorize Miley's appearance later. Capitol didn't want to wait and tried to force Morrissey to agree to re-record the song and release the album, by releasing Rebels. And a stalemate happened after that? Probably with things escalating a lot behind the scenes. Anyway, speculating.

As per the timeline:

October 29, 2022: Central announces the release for February 2023.

November 2, 2022 Ron Perry (Columbia Records) emails Scott Rodger stating:
"Hi Scott - sorry for the delay. Just saw this.Unfortunately we will not be clearing any outside features for MC right now."

November 14, 2022: Central announces the album is postponed and that "Its fate is exclusively in the hands of Capitol Records"

November 25, 2022: Rebels is released?

Lol, sure!

Anyway, would be interesting to hear why she didn’t stand her ground and demand to be on Veronica, or what really was her reason ( that’s if it was her reason) for deciding to not be on Veronica, if that is the case.
Moz's "Miley is a punk rocker" seemed to suggest the former. But then he claimed "Miley has backed off for reasons unconnected to me, having had a major clash with a key figure in 'the circle'. I cannot give any details about the private fight because … it is private, after all."
Who knows what that was about.

I don't believe he did post it or has been in any fit state to think through the implications if he's been informed of it.

What else is Central but an outlet for his every thought, rant and vendetta, to a point where he now has fans trolling Capitol execs on his behalf. Does anyone need to be invested in that petulant crap, really?

The only thing this "drama" achieves is to detract from the music and show Moz as a totally dysfunctional person, a guy who is obsessed with his own fame and status and has barely a friend in the world. Maybe he's always been like that but I miss the days when we didn't have to see it up close. The music is all that matters.

Mentally ill people are very difficult to be around even if you love them very much. They self-sabotage and everyone gets caught in the crossfire of their issues, which they do not want to heal from.

I'm sure it was a disappointing loss, considering the huge publicity it could have brought, but at what point did Morrissey decide that not releasing 'Bonfire' at all was preferable to re-recording Miley's backing vocals with another artist?

It really is a classic case of cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.

That last part really rings true. Solutions are put right in front of Moz which he won't take. The goal is not to solve problems, but to create problems for which you can blame someone else. And his public get to enjoy the songs about them, consistently until V&I and occasionally after that.

This whole smelly affair reflects poorly on Morrissey. There is no way any major label will release his music now.

Yeah, Miley must do interviews and promotion.
And seriously no journalist has thought of asking her about this for the last two years? It’d be interesting to know her stance.
They were busy asking Johnny Marr and Billy Bragg about Morrissey’s views

This whole mess was made by inviting or agreeing to let Miley Cyrus sing a song? I can't believe Morrissey needs to hold on to this girl who is mediocre. I don't know what's behind it but it doesn't smell good... And there's an issue of egos, Moz leave your ego and if you made a mistake admit it, and move on, In my opinion, I don't need MCirus to sing on an album of yours and you don't need it, your legacy is already made, but it can continue. And someone close to Moz who really loves him should talk to him and make him understand things. Cyrus is lukewarm for not giving an opinion, Rodger is out of character by posting this. There's a whiff of vengeance... I'm expecting a good move of Moz pieces, and an interview explaining what happened:mad:😡🥴

Has anybody already suggested Fiona Dodwell as a possible replacement for Miley Cyrus? FiDo could also ride a bulldozer ball naked during concerts.
