I suppose if we'd all had the internet back then we'd have noticed that the title was also that of a B-side to American girl group Reparata and the Delrons' 1968 single 'Saturday Night Didn't Happen'. I see from the wiki that their song 'Shoes' was used in pre-concert audios by Morrissey, and its music was borrowed for 'A Rush And A Push And The Land Is Ours'. (Side note, another B-side 'Toom Toom Is A Little Boy' sounds a little similar to one of Morrissey's unreleased titles!).

I forgot to mention another one that's probably come up before, but some might find interesting: Rough Trade's first single release was 'Paris Maquis' by French punk group Metal Urbain in 1977, but another song of theirs that same year was called 'Panik' and it was named single of the week by the New Musical Express. Their lead singer was Clode Panik.

It was the Cities in Park gig 33 years ago today. I went to see the Stranglers last night with the same 4 guys who I went to this gig with.
