and yet, people come back again and again. So it seems the fans are getting what they want.

But on another note, he rarely does what’s expected of him. Surely he must see how long other artists sets are, and he obviously refuses.
They are getting just enough to come back for more, but only just.

Morrissey is not the Cure or like other musical acts, he does not advertise and is not known for doing long sets. People know or should know by now what they are paying for, they are paying for a Morrissey show not a Cure, Suede, etc show. And I don’t know if people would love a longer set. I don’t think it’s possible to make that kind of prediction.

I think people would certainly like longer sets. I spoke to a few friends who went to the Manchester gig, their first time seeing Morrissey, one of them who came with me. They found the abrupt end to the gig weird, and just thought he went off in a hissy fit. I had to reassure them that one hour sets is just normal Mozzer behaviour.

? Possible to make that kind of prediction? Huh? Of course people would love to hear more Morrissey songs at the Morrissey show they paid a lot of money and went out of their way to go see. I don't even understand why somebody wouldn't. And if they don't, they can just leave. 99% of the room wants more. The disappointment in NYC when the lights came on was palpable. A lot of confusion and groans.

It was the same at the last Manchester gig. Lots of people stood around expecting more, then just shrugging of shoulders and a few "Is that it?" when the house lights came back on at 10 AM.

And us Mancunians do like value for money, especially during the ongoing cost of living crisis in the UK.

I’ve been to many shows, and I never felt the need any one of them should’ve been longer. Though I guess this depends on how involved you are as a member of the audience your attention your passion etc.

but I think there’s something to be said for the phrase ‘leave them wanting more’, because the fans always come back, even with short sets and cancellations.

These are just the facts.

redacted loves my posts, lol.

Moz needs a longer set or a support act, preferably both. It's weird thousands of people going to Manchester Apollo just for an hour or so.

They’re paying for a Morrissey show, so that’s the weirdness they’re paying for time and time again, always coming back for more.

I've been to many Morrissey shows, and I see him because I love his music, but I certainly wish he played for longer, especially as the sets feel like they have gotten shorter and shorter over the years.

Morrissey needs to stop with the Woe is me shit? Are you kidding? What's next? Fish should stop swimming? Birds cease to fly? This is the man who wrote Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now. He is the king of woe is me. You guys need to stop with the "Morrissey should do this and Morrissey should do that" bullshit. It's utterly exhausting and dull as hell.
I think for once I'll have to slightly disagree. Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now is a great song and a nice play on Heaven Knows I'm Missing Him Now by Sandie Shaw. But the posts on Moz Central are embarrassing and desperate. Moz will always do what he likes and that's his right. I just find it tiresome to hear the same complaints over and over. If he wasn't impossible to work with he'd have a deal and BOF would be old news and we'd be talking about the album collab with Alain. If Moz consistently pisses in his own bed he shouldn't complain about the smell. (Apologies for the crudeness of that last sentence).

But this isn't really making a point about anything. They come back for more, and I do too, because we want more. Which means the show should be longer, with even only a few more songs.

The shortness of his shows will actually make me hesitate on buying a ticket again in the future, as I imagine it will for many others in the audience as well. Nobody likes the feeling of getting ripped off. The audience in NYC was annoyed the show ended so soon. I bet many won't be back "for more."

Yeah, I miss him having support acts. Anna Calvi supporting him at the O2 Arena was fantastic.

Yes we’re conditioned to expect a support act. So it’s not surprising M does the opposite.

He loves having a band, but if he could do away with that, he probably would, end up like Shirley Bassey, just him and the lights and the mic.

She is great. Sack was a great support band too. I quite liked The New York Dolls and James Maker too. Noise Is The Best Revenge is possibly his worst ever support band and made Kristeen Middleaged's strangled cat routine sound like fine opera.

Even though I've seen Tiger Army 5 times, I'm gutted I missed them supporting Morrissey.

he's playing small venues and pretending they are sold out, when you can just go on the website and a buy a ticket.

both true, but you say it as if there’s a problem
