Morrissey will be leading the countdown from stage...

I get that, but at special events like these I think he should put the effort in to add in rarely played gems or even unplayed material. Imagine a New Year’s gig where he throws out Ammunition finally, along with the likes of Drag The River, You Were Good In Your Time and Well I Wonder.

Like back when he randomly pulled I Keep Mine Hidden from the sands of time. Even if it were for a few select shows it would be special and appreciated.
That would be great. Maybe we'll be surprised. If he doesn't, the balloon drop will make up for it.

Someone’s going to be sacked for that Instagram message. And you’ve just significantly hastened the process.

What's the betting Moz exits the stage at 5 minutes to midnight and leaves the countdown and balloon drop to the band? That would be Très Morrissey.

I have a feeling something like this could happen. We saw it happen in vegas with songs like I like you, Boy Racer, Far off Places, etc..

Support are going to have time to kill.
Perhaps there will be a longer video reel.
Based on this year's performances, he will go on at ~10:30pm, play 19 songs to get to midnight and then 'countdown' to the limo...
FWD.

"Tomorrow" would be a good choice to end the main set at 11:57 and then play something else fun at 12:01 to wrap it up. Maybe "Suedehead".

I saw a NYE Morrissey show in 2015 and was hoping for something a little different, but it was basically the same set he'd been doing. It was possibly the longest Morrissey show I've ever seen, though, at 23 songs. There were no balloons; he was off stage by 11pm.

would there be anything better than bringing in hogmanay with a live performance by M at the bells,
sounds delightful.
inside every balloon there will be a miniature usb with a bonfire download,if only.

sam should stream it live on youtube because lets face it unless your out and about the bells can be a bit boring and thats coming from a scot who are world leaders when it comes to the new year.

You're The One For Me, Fatty / Alma Matters / Shoplifters Of The World Unite / I Wish You Lonely / Rebels Without Applause / How Soon Is Now? / I Am Veronica / Sure Enough, The Telephone Rings / First Of The Gang To Die / Life Is A Pigsty / Everyday Is Like Sunday / I Ex-Love You / Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want / Darling, I Hug A Pillow / The Loop / Jack The Ripper / Dear God Please Help Me / I Will See You In Far-Off Places // Speedway
You never know, he might debut unreleased track "Happy New Tears".

Yes, debut a new track when everybody's drunk for New Years. Brilliant marketing scheme.

Maybe he's getting married on the 30/31st and is going to announce it then. Otherwise I really can't see him counting in the New Year and being present at a balloon drop. Certainly not without that smirk.

I think it will be that core for sure - he's not going to majorly rework the setlist in the short time between now and the shows. I'd love to see "Hooligan" brought hack as a final closer.
As someone who remembers when he didn’t play Smiths songs, it feels weird to complain about Shoplifers and HSIN being played so much, so I won’t.

I will say I’ve taken a friend to see him on Broadway, Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, Kings Theater and Newark (all since 2019) and she commented on Loop, Sunday, Ripper, Alma being played all the time. And as much as I love those, it does seem time to fully shake things up and consider cutting Loop/Sunday/Ripper/Alma to make room for others. But he won’t, and we will still buy tix. I remember seeing him two nights at HOB in Vegas in 2002 and he commented at the beginning of night two how he was going to shake up she set…. And he played the exact same thing as the night before. Hahahaha

But hey, we got Our Frank and We Hate It recently, so it’s all good.

I won't ever complain about Alma and HSIN in the setlist, namely the latter. That's his song; it would be like seeing the Stones and them not playing Satisfaction

But The Loop and Jack The Ripper need to go. So many better rockabilly songs. Pregnant or Sing Your Life would be welcome
