The issue was never how 'friendly' the CEO was, it was the fact that Miley Cyrus's label have her signed to a legally binding exclusive contract, didn't want her on 'Bonfire' and Morrissey refused to replace her backing vocals. He could have sorted all this a year ago if he wanted to, but he chose to throw his toys out of the pram instead.

...is the correct answer.

Morrissey has effectively sacrificed his album because he didn't want to lose Miley Cyrus' vocals from it.

We are well and truly through the looking glass.

Imagine if we never got to hear You Are The Quarry in 2004 because Britney Spears was on one of the songs and her record label blocked it and Morrissey wouldn't budge.

I heard she quit in protest of BoT not being released yet!

Rumor is, she’s starting her own label just to release it! whatever the cost!

I doubt Michelle Jubelirer was the problem, or had anything to do with the problem.

Indeed, I’d imagine her level of positivity (and she had Morrissey’s book in a promotional photo, shared on this site) was influential, in getting Morrissey the contract in the first place.

She might be more accurately perceived as yet another bridge burned—rather than the spanner in the works.
 
It is truly disturbing that people are still blaming this woman for all the things Morrissey did.

It's actually kind of terrifying that no matter how many times this is explained, and the evidence was provided, that people refuse to believe it. The Cult of Morrissey members here have totally lost it.

I really think all labels are closed to Morrissey now, whether she is there or not, she is not and was not the problem. He is. Why would any label touch him now after how he trashed the label, her and his most recent really bad behavior.
 
Really don't know why he is so obsessed with Miley Cyrus's voice.
I think most of the people who buy his albums and listen to his music don't care whether Miley Cyrus's voice is in them or not.

I think he’s obsessed with her status rather than her voice.

Does anyone still actually believe that she played a role in the BOT debacle, because there is factual proof that Morrissey and Morrissey only is to blame (!!!) I was being sarcastic earlier about the Central post, but I really really hope something like this never appears, because in my book that would prove that he is downright mad. But thankfully as of now no petty Central post and I hope it stays that way.

that just shows the stranglehold that record companies have over artists,artists can hardly go for a shit without them knowing about it.
