Morrissey Central "Mexico City" - dengue infection will take 2-3 weeks to clear; tour to resume in Florida (September 10, 2023)

Looks like he caught Dengue Fever - all shows cancelled until Florida on 7 October. All South American dates cancelled.

Morrissey’s arrival in Mexico City has resulted in a dengue infection. The virus will take 2-3 weeks to clear.

The tour is set to resume in Florida.

Morrissey has not ‘cancelled’ any shows, but the infection makes the immediate two weeks impossible.

Don't post official information, Gordy boy knows better than the medical authorities in Mexico and if he says Morrissey has Dengue then it must be true.
i have never mentioned dengue once so i dont know where you got that from,i wouldnt even talk about it as i know almost zero about it.

I wouldn't go as far as a picture in a hospital bed, but the truth would be nice.

I think that after 40 years of following the man, most of us somehow deserve that, no?
even if he put out the true facts people on here still wouldnt believe him,he is in a lose lose situation on this site.
the only people who should be moaning on here are people who actually had tickets.

Absolutely. But the story is old and it goes on.
At a concert last year he proclaimed his motto to be "Never complain, never explain". One he does a lot the the other indeed never. That's sad but obviously how it goes.

Well, I had tickets for Lima, Bogota, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Brasilia. I would be traveling for two weeks around South America. The evil airlines will not refund me and will charge a large fee to re-issue the tickets when I decide to use them again. Basically, I will pay nearly the same price again for the same ticket, doubling my costs.

And I am not sure if the ticket sellers will actually refund me in the case of cancellation. If they demand that we go to the box office in person I will lose that, too, as I live in Brazil. But I guess they will refund through the credit card.

Same scenario that I went through in 2013. Yes, I was that stupid again.

Then I guess I fit the profile.

Yes, you're right.

We don't learn.

Today, at last, an official communication in Brazil regarding postponement of Morrissey concerts in Brazil. They vaguely say the concerts will be scheduled for early next year, but no date is given. So, my advise is ask for you money back. The concerts were not sold out, so if confirmed, you will have the chance to buy it again.

It's not stupid, it's idealistic.

But you can see how ill he is - whether its root cause is mental or physical. He aged drastically in his early 50s & that's a sign of something pretty serious.

That's a pretty big statement, what evidence points to him having something serious. People seem to age at a different pace, ie schoolfriend - everyone may be 60 but some look like their 40 and some look 70.

Yes, ok. Then just be open about that.

And if there is any mental of physical impairment, don't stretch too far. Keep gigs local and with more days in between them (I know, Nottingham ...). Fans have the strange habit of buying tickets for concerts that are officially announced.

Best of luck to the Floridians in October and to the Australians in December. And let's see if he can stand four dates in a row in NY.

Although he may never recognize or even understand that, he should be very, very thankful for the committed fans he (still) has. Because all the other professionals who put money in the line (labels, managers, promoters, venues, ticket sellers) probably don't want anything to do with him anymore because of this unpredictable behaviour.
Thankfully promoters, venues, ticket sellers (and insurance I assume) do want to have something to do with him, or he wouldn't be able to tour.

I can’t see how ill he is? He looks about 64, and in reasonable shape. He apparently refuses testosterone and hair dye—so he might look more advanced in comparison to some stars.

The constant flus & fevers he's been getting since his collapse on stage in 2009. The sudden change in his appearance. Him not being taken to court for cancelling gigs. Journalists openly talking about his neurodivergence which gets harder to deal with as the person gets older. Him talking about his depression throughout his entire career...

He should retire then!

You keep hinting at something, you have been doing it for a while now. What are suggesting?

He has been pretty open about it. He does use creative euphemisms rather than actually name the issue, but still...

He does need to wind the touring down - but I think that's part of his management chaos.

He ain’t got Dengue fever has he???
lol.
He’s just f***ed off somewhere and that’s that
That’s our Mozzer once again finding a way to turn a triumphant tour into an unmitigated $hit$how!

Nah, it’s just solo that turns everything into a shit show.
