Actually, I've just looked up a Google translation of 'J'en air marre de Johnny Marr' and it simply says 'I'm sick of Johnny Marr'.

Yep, that's pretty much what I took it to mean - "I'm done with Johnny Marr" is what I got. It's kind of spooky that's how his name translates into French. Well, it is to me.

That bridge was burned in 1987, and no attempt at rebuilding it will ever be successful. As such, Marr has nothing to lose by saying what he wants, and nothing to gain by kowtowing to Moz's demands to police his speech in 2022. I'm sure in previous years his has bitten his tongue to a certain extent, in the hope of not killing the golden goose of a potential Smiths reunion. He must realise by this point, that it's a hopeless endeavour. At this stage Marr might as well just publically tell Moz to wind his neck in, and F off - what possible difference would it make?

The more I think about it the more I really dont understand this response. Open letters are done on social media constantly. The most recent viral ones being Britney Spears sounding off on her sister for crap she has written in her book. The only difference is this was written on a website instead of social media ... which Moz basically uses as social media anyways. Its just such a weird thing to hone in on in response. I don't think it's that deep or anything, people in music etc just @ each other directly these days, it's still open. It was obviously a dig but i don't think it was meant to be some clever or witty thing, just a little bit aggressive if anything.

You know Johnny Marr has a double album called Fever Dreams Pts 1 - 4 being released on BMG on February 25. The publicity push is just starting. Johnny will have an extremely high media profile during the next month.

Because sadly, he's got it into his head that Johnny hates him and thinks he's a monster. So instead of hoping that JM might "be nice" - which he doesn't think will happen anymore - he just says, "please stop bashing me, I've never done it to you, I've always praised you."

Morrissey doesn't hold back when he really wants to cut someone down - this letter wasn't like that, he sounds wounded not nasty. It's still devastating that their relationship has reached this level, though.

Absolutely agree, I don't see Moz's attack on Johnny, there is a way (Moz's way) to get attention to seek an approach, Johnny must call him to clear things up. Guys put egos aside, clarify everything if you feel it. You have to expand consciousness.
