English version:

The Audio of DER SPIEGEL's Interview with Morrissey
British pop singer Morrissey has accused DER SPIEGEL of falsely quoting him in a recently published interview. The magazine stands behind its reporting and has made the decision to post the audio online in response.

On Friday, Nov. 10, DER SPIEGEL culture reporter Juliane Liebert told her editors that she had been offered an interview with British popstar Morrissey and that a decision needed to be made quickly on whether to accept. We agreed: The former lead singer of The Smiths doesn't shy away from speaking his mind - and he also doesn't grant interviews very often.

The following Monday, Liebert flew to Los Angeles, where she was to interview Morrissey on Tuesday. The interview appointment got delayed several times before finally taking place on Wednesday and lasting 40 minutes. Edited versions of interviews published in DER SPIEGEL are usually authorized by the interview subject before publication, consistent with established procedure in German journalism. But in this instance, Morrissey's team elected to forego authorization.

After its publication on Nov. 18 in DER SPIEGEL, the interview (available behind the SPIEGEL Plus paywall in German) generated headlines not only in the German-language media. English publications like the Independent also wrote about Morrissey's statements regarding Trump, Brexit, the #MeToo debate and questions of national identity.

The musician then sought to distance himself from the published interview. "Unless you see the words form in my mouth and then you see or hear the words come out of my mouth... please, if you don't see that, I didn't say them," he told fans at a concert. He said he would never grant an interview to a print journalist again.

On Monday, Morrissey followed up with a post on his official Facebook page casting doubt on whether his statements had been reflected accurately by DER SPIEGEL. He also alleged that the fact that the magazine had not yet posted the raw audio of the interview was tantamount to an indirect admission of guilt.

To counter that claim, the editors of DER SPIEGEL have decided to post the audio of the interview online.

You can listen to the interview conducted with Morrissey in Los Angeles on Nov. 15 here:

Morrissey didn't pontificate, he gave his opinion - and that's something fascists like you seem to have a problem with.
Again I'll say, what was a gay 14 year old boy doing alone in Kevin Spacey's bedroom?
Also your scatology is a little troubling - you're clearly not a balanced human being. But I guess that explains why you hate Morrissey so much. His dignity on that latest video was so touching. But of course you wouldn't see that because you're so eaten up with misanthropy.

Edging over into the dark side nowadays usually means stating a case where reality doesn't correspond with cherished political beliefs. Moz should be commended for having the balls to mention these things. It's genuinely a worrying subject to anyone who cares about humanity.

When has Morrissey expressed his views on the status of women in Mexico? Does he seriously expect us to believe he hasn't seen 'problematic' behaviour towards women in that culture? At his own concerts? Bullshit.

We can dismiss Morrissey as an incorrigible troll with regard to German sexual & racial politics because he simply ignores much more egregious rape cultures in markets that are key to his brand. Markets such as Mexico. Morrissey isn't remotely interested in a fair discussion of the merits and faults of German immigration policies. He is simply using that vexed topic to further his vexatious troll agenda. But it's all blown up in his face. He's finished. He's a scoundrel and a fraud. Next time he goes to Mexico (or Los Angeles) for a show, let's see him stop baiting cops and sexual abuse victims/survivors and hit out at something that's actually challenging such as the toxic cultural algorithm of his Mexican fan-base:

‘We are living in a country of death.’ Lulú Barrera is talking about her homeland, Mexico. It’s thought that six women are killed by men every day there; the UN calls it a pandemic. Women deal with sexual harassment all the time – they’re targeted on buses and attacked in the streets.'

Morrissey has allied himself with reactionaries purely to try and troll/goad/cajole the public to listen to his silly new album. It's really rather hopeful that they've just told him to f*** off and die...

'Part of this means tackling victim-blaming culture – just this week women expressed their outrage online after the Mexican Office of the Public Prosector tweeted that a student’s lifestyle was to blame for her murder.'

Morrissey loudly protested his rights to use LAX airport without being (allegedly )subjected to unwelcome sexual attention by a security guard. Yet he denies the same right to move through society without sexual hindrance to a 14 year old boy? He is a profoundly sick and disturbed human being and needs to be ostracised, possibly forever.

You haven't answered my last post yet...

What was a humasexual 14 year old Morrissey doing wandering around Manchester on his own?

What on earth made Kevin Spacey think it was appropriate to invite a 14 year old boy into his bedroom? Why do you attribute agency, blame and censure to the 14 year old boy and not the grown-up man? Just like Morrissey does?

What dignity? FFS! Are you talking about him mincing around the fountain in the video for 'Jacky'? I'm not into scat but don't have a problem with rimming. Again, you're just thick, out of your depth and coming unstuck pretty damn fast. You step into the ring with BrummieBoy and think you get out without a broken jaw? Think again....

Misanthrope? No. I'm a husband, father & philanthropist businessman but that's hardly germane to this discussion, is it? You have no replies, you're on the ropes and the ref is counting you out....

Victim blaming Rapp? You mean the gay 14-year-old that was alone in Kevin Spacey's house and willingly entered his bedroom, then years later cried out for attention to help his flagging career?
None of the Hollywood stories are yet fact. It's a historically dirty industry full of disgusting, hypocritical and morally-defunct people - be they actors or producers. We simply don't know for sure exactly what happened in any of these cases yet.
If Morrissey is such a rape apologist, why is concerned about the 1,200 women that were raped by migrants across Germany on the night of New Years Eve 15/16 and the current high rape levels that continue there?
Or are the rapes in German/Sweden too politically inconvenient to be taken seriously, or even discussed? Perhaps sexual assaults in Hollywood align with a more correct political agenda.
Me, I don't care about political agendas. I despise them. And so does Morrissey. But evidently people so intelligent and well read as yourself don't.

This is a prime example of how stupid and oblivious you have to be to defend Morrissey's comments. You perfectly represent the "Morrissey did nothing wrong" argument.
It kind of breaks down into two groups. One admits he said those things but justifies them. The other group says we don't know what he really said. And you really ought to keep up "reelfountain" because Morrissey said onstage that he didn't say those things.
You've been selected to represent "he said it and it's true." Ketamine Sun, as always, is selected to represent the "we can't really know" section.
Points for "I don't care about political agendas ... neither does Morrissey." Did someone just let you out of the basement where you've been held captive since the 80's?

You might believe you are a philanthropist. I'm sure it makes you feel very righteous. But here is where you come to spit your bile. Some go to the gym, some for a walk - you come here.

Now, Moz made clear that at 14 (meaning at an age when sex is strongly on your mind anyway) he would have known that to be in a 26 year old man's bedroom is not exactly a safe place to be - he never felt safe on the streets either by the way.

If you think Moz minces, why watch?

Broken jaws, manholes, what is it with all this violent talk?

And as for dignity, I mean in the new video he has put out on youtube where he explains himself. Yes, he comes across as very dignified.

Listen, I agree with, or at least can sympathise with, every word he said in that German interview. Reason? Because I believe nothing was said in malice, but (concerning Germany) in compassion. The meanings and whole tone was twisted by the press who love salacious headlines. Also there are many people who have a fascist idea of what you should and shouldn't talk about these days. Anything derogatory concerning migrants is a no-no on their list. Morrissey breaks that rule and it gets people, like yourself, jumping in fury.

Yes, the classic hallmark of fascism. Nothing derogatory about migrants or else.

That's it - migrants must be described at all times as angels incapable of anything bad whatsoever. New fascism right there -and if you don't agree with every word, the fascists froth at the mouth and threaten violence. The new police.

Words like "stupid" and "oblivious" from your tongue must leave a strange taste in your mouth...I'd imagine it must taste similar to shit as you're clearly talking out of your ass. If all you're able to muster around here is one vapid post after another, I suggest you just do us all a favor and crawl back up inside whatever rancid c*** you fell out of and strangle yourself with the umbilical cord.

Dignified? He comes across as somebody who's desperate to keep selling concert tickets and, if he's lucky, some records. He comes across as somebody who's painted himself into a corner and having to follow the instructions of his masters at the record company. He comes across as utterly defeated and pathetic. It's pure wank material.

You are the definition of cynical and uncaring.
