Big Mouth Strikes AGAIN! Morrissey is filmed from his BA business class seat demanding to be 'let off' the plane that was grounded due to stormy weather

Excerpt:
Severe thunderstorms meant his flight from London Heathrow to the Irish capital was diverted to Shannon on the west coast of Ireland where it sat on the tarmac for almost two hours until the weather improved.

But once on the tarmac, witnesses said Morrissey demanded to speak to the captain and asked to be 'let off' the Airbus A320 as he didn't 'want to be hanging around in [a] coffin' for hours.

Video passed to MailOnline shows him standing at the front of the plane, in a blue suit, talking to a cabin crew member who is heard telling him: 'We have to put the paperwork in the computer, close the door and then off we go'.

Actually I wish all people complaining were this civil with tone. I mean he’s not freaking out

What a stupid, ridiculous thing to say.
He was being rude to people who were just doing their jobs and trying to keep people safe, nobody in their right mind would be proud of that.

I understand your view point. But sometimes
you got to put aside the fear of being judged, that your behavior might be seen as rude or incorrect, in order to speak your mind. Change won’t come by living in fear, keeping quiet, and filling out a complaint form.

Look at nicky wire though! He drank a ton and eats chocolate for breakfast and he looks 25 and can still do those fantastic leg kicks!!!!

it could be his genes that allow him such flexibility.

Slow-clapping and antagonising the crew is not going to 'bring about change' either.

He autographed and sold some of his favorite albums by Patti Smith, Reed (?) Bowie and Iggy.

Of course that can be interpreted negatively as a scam to make money, I guess? But I’m sure M can find an easier way to make loads of money if that were the case. Anyway, he paid for the albums and probably thought it a silly, harmless thing to do. And does anyone really think a Morrissey fan was paying 2-300$ for a 25$ record? I think they were paying for the autograph and the uniqueness of it.
Agreed ☝️Surely he purchases the records himself therefore making contributions to the artists and then puts his signature on them as an affirmation of his love for them. It’s harmless and a way of him transmitting the love of these records to his fanbase.

If enough people do it over time, it is protest.

Btw, why the downvote to my other post? I thought you were above such behavior, Amy.

Oh really? Do tell…
Go On Reaction GIF

I sort of did! The worst thing was an actress who kicked the director in the groin at a press night & he was on the floor backstage howling just before the curtain. They'd been dating & had split up.

& (in a separate incident) I ended up having to yell at the crew of a band called Spaced because their sound was bleeding into our stage. There was nothing that could be done but I was getting earache.

This isn’t true. Someone doctored the video, just like the Der Spiegel audio.

who doctored the audio? I believe the interviewer herself admitted to making some edits, but I don’t think that interfered with Morrissey’s answers.

Edit: I know you’re joking, but I don’t think anyone doctored this video.

Anybody has a right to complain, to be frustrated by red tape and bureaucracy and whatever else - and it's completely normal to be frustrated by delays, especially if you already hate flying. But any adult should realise that there are ways and means to do it, and that if you really 'want change' then you have to engage calmly with the people who can enact it and not just take it out on the first ordinary, low-paid, doing-their-bit person you see, who has no powers to help you. That's not protest, it's childish, entitled heckling.

I can well imagine everyone else on the plane was annoyed like M and was rolling their eyes and saying "Oh, for f***s sake!" to their neighbour in the next seat. Then getting out a book, or sticking in their earbuds because they recognise that slow-clapping and throwing a fit is not going to change the situation. How the hell would anyone cope with adult life, if they acted like this every time they faced the slightest inconvenience?

The thing to be in 2023 is… charming!

No, the thing they want you to be in 23 is subservient. Which is neither charming, natural or real.

Have we tried, though?

Would slow clapping solve climate change? - Nobody is even trying to see if it would! Bloody good-for-nothing "scientists"!

I don’t blame him. I once got trapped on a Virgin Atlantic flight. After almost 2 hours waiting on the tarmac I was clutching my heart and gasping for air. I struggled to the galley where I unfortunately fainted, the crew promptly called paramedics. I was stretched off the aircraft. After getting checked over I started to feel a lot better. Couple of VaTs in the lounge and I was fit for the later flight. Phew.

Oh I agree with you, partly. Because protest takes many forms. And his behavior, and he won’t be the last, is a form of protest that one can hope will bring change. Eventually the flight attendants won’t be able to put up with the constant complaining and will therefore report to their superiors, and then in time …

Amy, no one is saying that someone should speak their mind or behave in a certain way every time one is faced with the slightest inconvenience. I also don’t think this circumstance is a slight inconvenience. Especially when you can imagine that it’s probably not the first time for him or others on that plane. I mean, a person can only take so much.

Better out than in. I bet he felt great after.

Maybe not so great the day after, I’ll give you that.

what is all this mince about M drinking too much, hes a northerner, thats what people from the north do.
i was out last night and im going out for a few pints later, does that make me an alcoholic, far from it,everything in moderation.
Just dont get on a plane afterwards Gordy 😉

well, that would take a different kind of protest, and it may not solve, but I think it would help the problem if we can all start by changing our diets and either bicycling or using public transportation, etc. These little forms of protest add up.

Morrissey has been flying around the world for 40 years, he knows that stuff like this happens (as anyone does) and he should be able to deal with it like an adult.

Again, even an adult can only take so much.
