Big Mouth Strikes AGAIN! Morrissey is filmed from his BA business class seat demanding to be 'let off' the plane that was grounded due to stormy weather

Excerpt:
Severe thunderstorms meant his flight from London Heathrow to the Irish capital was diverted to Shannon on the west coast of Ireland where it sat on the tarmac for almost two hours until the weather improved.

But once on the tarmac, witnesses said Morrissey demanded to speak to the captain and asked to be 'let off' the Airbus A320 as he didn't 'want to be hanging around in [a] coffin' for hours.

Video passed to MailOnline shows him standing at the front of the plane, in a blue suit, talking to a cabin crew member who is heard telling him: 'We have to put the paperwork in the computer, close the door and then off we go'.

Moz is acting like a big man-child here, no argument. He's also being a "Karen' and bullying service staff who can't answer back. Not a good look at all. The question is, is it a result of alcohol, a sense of entitlement or a genuine anxiety borne of fear of flying? Or is it all three?

If this is him in public, I dread to think what band mates, (especially the OG Johnny Marr) crew members and 'staff' have had to put up with over the years. Don't get me wrong, he's not the first to throw a hissy fit in an airport (Elton telling photographers to 'F.. off' repeatedly, Bjork wrestling a tv presenter to the ground'.

This is why I don’t drink, or very little these days.
You can’t help but wonder what his body and mind would be like at this time of his life had he looked after himself.
Still, we love him like a drunken uncle telling us about his glory days. Can’t wait to see him at Troxy in the summer 🔥🔥

Sometimes it takes a little spirit to give one the spirit to express what others probably also feel.

The saddest thing about the film is, that no one joined him in clapping and speaking out also.

Sad? What would a plane-load of people acting petulant achieve. You think the crew or pilot can help it if there's adverse weather conditions? They are not allowed to let people off the plane either. You know this.

yep. And you know or can at least imagine that this is not the first time this happened, and you can probably also imagine that Morrissey is not the first to complain about this.
So why don’t airlines make it possible for the people to choose to leave, instead of being held captive for hours in a uncomfortable situation.
I’m sure they can make this a safe option for anyone in that circumstance.
It's an airport not a bloody bus stop! This was an unscheduled diversion to a different airport. They can't just drive the plane into a terminal unless there's sufficient space, free space in the schedule, and not be interfering with other flights etc.

He didn't swear & he wasn't insulting - it's not that bad. If you 'dread' to think - then you shouldn't be anywhere near a soundcheck, you'd never survive it.

The bands I was in did a lot of soundchecks and honestly speaking, we never sarcastically applauded anyone or childishly talked down to anyone. He was really insulting and berating staff. You need to just accept it was bad behaviour. Nobody's perfect.

I think with all of the shit they make a person go through just to get on a plane and the prices, then the airlines should be prepared for such situations. They could make an announcement that a bus/shuttle will arrive and that people have the option to leave and transfer to another plane as to unforeseen circumstances they do not know how long they will be stuck there.

Really. How hard can it be.

Very unpleasant and out of character for Morrissey, not like him at all. Most people would feel a bit embarrassed and maybe take this as an opportunity to cut back their drinking.

Yes, and I can imagine that a lot of people do the same, but because they are not celebrities, it never gets reported.

Makes one think that something may be wrong with the conditions and what they make people go through at the airport and on the plane. Just saying.

You've linked up with paragons then because I've seen mardy arguments over everything from the position of a chair to lost keys. I had to paint a theatre dressing room once because Sharleen Spiteri couldn't cope with light peach.

This isn’t true. Someone doctored the video, just like the Der Spiegel audio.

Look at nicky wire though! He drank a ton and eats chocolate for breakfast and he looks 25 and can still do those fantastic leg kicks!!!!

I understand this viewpoint. But what can be seen as shameful, unpleasant or embarrassing, is necessary for change. More people should not be afraid to be judged and speak their mind. Especially when he’s probably not the first to feel that way in that situation.

Actually, I wish Morrissey stated in the Central post that he was proud of what he did.
What a stupid, ridiculous thing to say.
He was being rude to people who were just doing their jobs and trying to keep people safe, nobody in their right mind would be proud of that.

He needs to get some perspective and be grateful that traveling between countries is so easy these days. What's a short delay compared to having to spend weeks on a ship?

Agree. But sometimes we need to speak our minds and not live in fear.
