Momentous means - "of great importance or significance, especially in having a bearing on future event"
Hard to deny whether you feel the result was bad news or good.
It's simple. He has never liked Trump. Why therefore would he not say something negative about Trump winning? Answer - he doesn't think that Kamala Harris winning would have been any better. Maybe even that it would have been worse. How did you twist and ring that meaning out of what he said?!
I think he was simply saying - I can't stand Trump, but I hate Kamala Harris even more.

Face it, Kamala was a dud candidate. A total numpty that no amount of big corporate finance was going to 'polish'. She came across as a big phony who couldn't communicate. There were 4 key 'moments' in this election:
1. Weaponising the legal system against Trump. This really didn't play well. People could see it for what it was - a witch hunt. Straight out of a banana republic.
2. The assassination attempt(s). Courage is a great virtue. It can't be faked.
3. The Joe Rogan interview. Trump was cool and relaxed. Had the common touch. While Harris ran away.
4. Calling Trump a 'Nazi' and a 'fascist'. That was it. They lost the argument. It was all over from that point.
Isn't trump a bit too old though?Face it, Kamala was a dud candidate. A total numpty that no amount of big corporate finance was going to 'polish'. She came across as a big phony who couldn't communicate. There were 4 key 'moments' in this election:

yep, he was too old too.How old is Joe Biden? His age makes him the oldest sitting president in US history.
Joe Biden is the oldest president in U.S. history and the second sitting president in a row to set that record. Here's the age he turned this year.www.usatoday.com
If you hate someone, why wouldn't you take the opportunity to say something bitchy about the fact that they have just won? Unless you hate their opponent even more? My logic is flawless...very strange interpretation. Which says more about you than his onstage comment.
Sorry, but that’s not what you said in your above interpretation and twisting of what he said.
My interpretation is that he simply thinks the whole thing stinks. ‘Each time you vote, you support the process’. It’s the process that he’s still criticizing by saying that he’s ‘above it’ etc.

I love Lionel Shriver. I think Morrissey would probably share her thoughts on this election. Absolutely no fan of Trump. But also delighted that the 'woke' / DEI / identity politics agenda offered by the Democrats has been so roundly rejected. No one likes it. No one wants it.
There is nothing "safe and stable" about unchecked illegal immigration, letting boys and men into womens' spaces or crying about your feelings when you hear something you don't agree with.
Man... These demo-lition-crats are losing their marbles, holy crap.
Honestly.. it scares me and makes me really, truly sad.
I hope it calms down soon, but I don't think it's likely seeing some of the freak out videos, people shaving their heads, wishing harm on people.
Take care of yourselves. Whatever "side" you're on.. please take care. The division is so depressing.
Well, to be a little more precise 69 million people liked it and wanted it (or at least voted for it). 73 million voted for Republicans.
I didn't follow the election so would struggle to name many policies for either party but it was clearly not a landslide.
Any Harris supporters care to tell me why you want to let males into women’s prisons and men play women’s sports?
And also why you think people were ever likely to vote for a candidate that believes in those things?
So that’s what the Proclaimers are up to these days…
