The Cure - Songs Of A Lost World

Fantastic. We all know Endsong is likely to be the best song of the year.

Disappointed, however, that It Can Never Be the Same isn’t on the album. Would love to hear a studio version of that one.

Might still get it as a bonus track on the Blu-ray.

And on Spotify, I hope. I’ve preordered the black vinyl.

I can't wait to hear the studio version of Endsong.
I am more excited about the release of this album than I have been about any album by any band in years.
It will be their best since Disintegration, and that is a mighty high standard.

Rumours are that next week there will be an announcement for a physical release. Maybe ICNBTS b-side?

Reaching out to a few resources for this. @Famous when dead - maybe you can help?

I attended the Cure gig on August 9, 2007 where they played The Big Hand live for one of the few times - probably because it was one of Porl’s favourite songs. Anyway I recorded the first minute and a bit, had to change batteries on the camera, then recorded from there to the end. I’m essentially missing a minute or two from the middle of the song.

Does anyone know if bootleg audio exists of this concert so I can combine my two clips and at least have the audio playing in the middle while I changed batteries? Noticed it isn’t on YT and would like to add it. Such an amazing song.

I'm a bit late to the party with regards to The Cure. I can't trace either Sydney gig that year (although, the night after - the song was ditched). Tried Dime & usual suspects.
Not that involved in their sold bootlegs - not enough hours in the day to start digging through that mountain. That said, no hits at all via various search combinations.
Good luck.
FWD.

I might be the only one who doesn’t really care for THOTD. I know.

6-9 I like on an almost equal level. WMS is wildly underrated. Wish is uneven and the production is a bit dry, but the album has extremely high peaks.

Surprised to see "Bloodflowers" so high in these lists. I've always found it a bit of a drab slog. Maybe I should give it another chance...

I expect it to be at least as good as Bloodflowers, at best it will be close to Disintegration.
Likely it will be somewhere in the middle between those two.

Top-3 would be amazing, but it would be truly unique for an artist to release a top-3 album 40 plus years into their career.

Bugger. I thought at least audio from that time period would be bootlegged!

I agree, but judging by the songs they’ve performed live, I honestly feel that that’s where we’re headed.
