Seems you missed 2: Irish Blood (15.6 million) and You Have Killed Me (12.5 million)

My Morrissey vs The Smiths listening ratio is 75%/25%
Well, I have this ratio equal to 85% / 15% in favor of Morrissey.

I think it's all about the vocals. Becoming a solo artist, Morrissey revealed new facets of his vocal abilities, and his voice gained magnetism. When you "return" to The Smiths albums, it seems that there is not enough contrast in the vocals, but this does not spoil all these wonderful songs of the legendary band at all.

Sorry I didn't add an 85/15 option to the poll ;)

There is definitely more contrast and texture in Morrissey's solo material compared to the Smiths but that's because he's had a lot longer to hone his craft whereas the Smiths were a blink of the eye.

How many plays of Sorrow Will Come In The End? Bloody awful song.

I'd love to hear a sarcastic, up-tempo version of that song sung all cheerily. Like the KROQ version of There Is A Place In Hell For Me And My Friends.

Stephen Street makes a prominent showing in these lists, you would think that would be some sort of a clue to Morrissey. I can't believe some of those others made top 10. I can't recall if M, Street and Whyte worked together.

What is this, a challenge? What do I get if I do?

No, its not a challenge.

Whilst everyone's entitled to their own opinion, I honestly think that anyone who says they would prefer to listen to World Peace or Low from beginning to end ahead of any Smiths album, needs to take a good hard look at themselves. Unless they're suffering from say long Covid, in which case God love ya.

Can you honestly listen to "World Peace" and "Low in" from start to finish more than any Smiths album?.
Kick the Bride ruins an otherwise stellar start to finish listen. World Peace is an outstanding album. The deluxe version is a five-star classic.

I'd prefer to listen to Metamatic by John Foxx.
