I just dreamt about bonfire of teenagers the album not the real thing. Come on moz release the damn thing. I dreamt that there was a lot of promotion for it and there were posters of moz everywhere, even moreso than for the cure's new album. I remembered thinking damn that's a lot of promotion for an unreleased album. How did this even snuck up in my dream??

Thought this would be appropriate on the strange/unexpected thread since it certainly felt strange AND unexpected. Don't remember any details from the dream though. I wrote the above paragraph on my notes app earlier while still feeling groggy post-sleep haha.

Sounds more like a fantasy than a dream. That album, and whatever else he has recorded since, is not getting released unless he does it himself. Which he won’t.

I was just warning you, to protect you from yourself.
And I know all about dreams. If some of the things I’ve dreamt about were to happen in real life… well, I’d never walk properly again.

I am a qualified dream analyst. I'm here if you need to share.

Persians aren't really Muslims. Islam was forced upon them but they still remember who they were as a people before the Muslim colonizers and they've never let the spirit of their people die. Islam and Persians is a very unnatural fit.

That's true, I think. Mohammed was a backwoods macho rube compared to the high culture and philosophy of Persia. Much of the great Islamic art, literature, and mysticism came from the Persian sector. The "Golden Age of Islam" would probably have been very different without it. Plus they gave us Islam's greatest apostate poet, Omar Khayyam. It would be great to have the secularized regime of the Shah back. It's too bad the jihadists took over and made it a fanatical, oppressive place, but I put the blame for that on the U.S. and Israel. Plopping down non-native Jewish supremacists on Islamic soil and dispossessing the natives was a guarantee for radicalizing the entire Middle East. I know which "country" I'd blow to smithereens instead.

Is it true that Persians were the original aryans?!

As far as I understand. Isn't the etymology of Iran "land of the Aryans?" That seems to be part of why the Nazis got into Eastern religion. Savitri Devi was into the theory that the Hindu caste system was originally based on a hierarchy of skin color established by the light-skinned people from the West ("Aryans") who settled the Indus valley. She was an amateur and fringe historian, but there does persist a cultural preference for light skin in India.

I think I’ve seen Morrissey in November a couple of times. The first time I saw him was in Charlotte, NC. It’s interesting that he always seems to go to Raleigh now. He hasn’t been back to Charlotte since that night in November 1992. I can’t really blame him. Charlotte isn’t much of a friendly city. Raleigh is fun…and cleaner. I was flipping through the old Sing Your Life fanzines. Moz was showered with love by his fans. Nothing negative was said - ever. But we grew up and then…the internet came along. I sometimes wish it didn’t exist. Anyway, I miss those days. I love the collection I have of this fanzine because they bring back such good memories. I didn’t know any Morrissey fans back then, so it was a whole new world to me. I was so happy to meet others who loved Morrissey as much as I did (and still do). This collection is really dear to my heart. And they’re irreplaceable. Here are a few pictures of the fanzine if you’ve never seen them. The picture where Morrissey is holding a bottle is one of my favorites. He looks lost in thought and a little exposed. As you can tell it was lovingly taped to my wall. And the postcard is from Sing Your Life. I pinned that to my wall as well. Sorry about all the damage made! I blotted out the address on the postcard because even though I doubt Russ lives at that address anymore, I’m sure someone does…

Thanks so much @davidt and Russ for everything. ❤️

Yes, I would love to go back to before the internet. Everything that was exciting then, was infinitely, skin-tinglingly, exponentially more exciting. Everything that was beautiful was a thousand times more beautiful. Now everything is rolled up into one big ball of meaningless nothing, and yes, you can get away from it - but it’s also so easy to just, not. Real life was like a film, and time hadn’t sped up yet. And i remember all the moments because i can go through them in my mind and pause them like I’m pausing a reel.

I think i’ll be able to recapture that feeling again, of that type of existence, and of that type of state of being again, the way it used to be. The way it used to feel. Once I have more time again than I’ve had until now.

Spent 3 weeks in Canada earlier this year and visited a resteraunt chain called Earl's in various places. They're great places as they have an extensive vegetarian menu which suited my youngest and lots of other stuff to suit everyone else's tastes. Anyway nice birthday surprise last week as my kids bought me their book which has a fantastic variation of food on their menu. Made 3 meals since I got it and all have been fabulous.
