New music coming rumor

Apologies, just woken up (again).
Conflated new tracks without remembering Alain leaving.
Figure is less.
Notre Dame / Pop / Sure Enough /...
Can't check thoroughly as highlighting a Wiki issue with DT (will update).
But thank you, figure is lower.
Regards,
FWD.
I think my list was the ones she played. By the time she'd joined most of the Bonfire tracks had dissapeared but Bonfire was bought back for the UK shows in July or something of them at least and Saint returned in Australia late 23. Sure Enough is at every show, seemingly for eternity.

This. It’s interesting to think that from post Smiths up until about 2014 Morrissey and his career were leaps and bounds “ahead” (whatever term you like) of Marr’s, but now it’s flipped. Moz was “ahead” under the old world of labels doing all the promotion, but in the current climate where Morrissey can’t be arsed to even do anything with his Instagram, Johnny has lapped him 3 times. What’s weirder is that for all those years Morrissey was the one touring and working and keeping the Smiths in the public consciousness while J Marr was playing everyone’s music but his own. And now suddenly J Marr is is the more popular face of the Smiths ?!? I’d be angry in my room if I were Moz as well.

I think it's a case of 'real' music fans getting desperate for anything guitar based that harks back to the days when we were spoilt..... Marr seems to have stepped into the void rather cleverly to leverage the Smiths to push the pish he's been putting out..... How many people would go watch him if it was just a night of Johnny's classics (sic)

Exactly. Strip 82-87 away, take Smiths tunes out of the set, and how many people pay to see J Marr? One of the more genius moves Moz made was to not play any Smiths songs live until 1997. He forced his fans to come with him solo so that he could make a name for himself outside of that dynamic. There was no guarantee it was going to work either!

You’re right but it was 1995.
Btw, thank you for al the info you’ve provided.

Judging by the crowds he drew during his Healers period, you'd be looking at half a dozen inebriated old soaks and the pub landlord's arthritic dog.

Morrissey has been lapped three times by Marr? Oh no, say it ain't so! Seeing as though Marr is out in front I better listen to his music more and stop listening to Morrissey's music. My fingers are crossed he can catch up.

Yes it's very odd that he pulls crowds like this who are prepared to shell out for tickets travel etc to hear him play 7 Smiths songs, although it may be they bought one of his last 4 albums which all were in the top 10 in the charts.

They were all crap though, there's not one song you would want as a Smiths b-side....
Most of those attending are literally clinging on to their past.... zoom in, the room's full of baldies and old ladies wishing they weren't so miserable now....... but at least they get their 7 Smiths songs eh....
Do you know you can go top 10 some weeks by selling about 8,000 units......

Yes aware of what sales can get you to number 1 as Morrissey got to number 3 with 6700 sales with Dog, although James needed 18500 sales to get to number 1 with their last album, so I suppose it depends what else comes out that week.

Regarding Johnny's songs, everyone has their own opinions, you think they're erap others think they're great, at the Manchester gigs where he played to 10000 people over the 2 nights, there were loads of people singing along to his solo stuff.

The Messenger and Call The Comet were both pretty good. Not listened to much of his newer stuff; songs about spirits and power and soul aren’t my cup of tea.

He clearly sells enough to warrant a record deal and I've bought all of his solo albums but I've never thought any of them were brilliant. Each one has its moments but I probably enjoy 50/60% of the songs on them. Sprit Power is my favourite as it basically captures all of the tracks I like from each of the albums and includes the standalone singles Armatopia and Somewhere which are my favourite songs of his.

I couldn’t care less about Johnny’s solo stuff. He seems like a nice bloke, but his solo stuff is instantly forgettable.

He can’t write a decent lyric if his life depended on it and he can’t sing. He wrote some brilliant music in the past, but those days are long gone.
