New music coming rumor

Unlike some, Robert Smith weeds out the weaker material. Presumably he wanted to release an album that’s 100 percent focused and with a clear mood, tone and direction. There’s no room for fillers on an album like that. Plus, he’s discarded lots of material (remember, an album was supposed to be released in 2014). And in the recent interview he did he said that a second album is virtually finished and a third one is in the making.
If you have listened to anything after Disintegration, you should know this statement is bollocks. I mean, wild mood swings…. Really

'Bonfire of Teenagers' will being released on November 5th, according to my sources - ie: Bonfire Night. Expect a big UK promotional campaign around this, with a launch party held outside Salford Lad's Club, with promotional Morrissey branded sparklers being handed out to journalists, an explosive 'reel around the firework fountain' display and an album playback climaxing with the ceremonial burning of a trio of Guys dressed up as Michelle Jubelirer, Miley Cyrus and Johnny Marr. Further details to be announced on Morrissey Central soon.

I choose to believe Morrissey now has a bandcamp account and the first release is both unreleased albums (is it still just two? I lost track. Did I miss one?)

Notre Dame has also been removed from Without Music the World Dies and replaced with a techno remix of the kid's a looker

I’m sorry, I should have made it clear that I meant RS nowadays. The Cure sure are guilty of some seriously uneven albums. But none as bad as LIHS. WMS have Treasure, Bare and Jupiter Crash, for f***’s sake. Nearly top tier stuff.

It's worth remembering there was never a deal for the UK release of Bonfire, only America. While it doesn't really matter in the age of streaming and being able to listen and buy online regardless of where you are, it's very interesting to see Capital couldn't secure a UK release back in 2022.

It seems incredible, though perhaps telling as well as ironic, that aptly-notorious murderer Ian Brady once managed to have a book published while imprisoned, complete with a foreword by a respected author(!), and yet Morrissey is deemed untouchable by - at least - major labels. This bizarre contrast in apparent eligibility/acceptability seems to me a little like the old truth about American censorship of the movies (in former decades at least): "It's fine if you, the director, show someone shooting countless people but no way will we let you show a breast being exposed onscreen."

This assumes that the major record labels refusing to sign Morrissey are doing so because of his politics. But Capitol signed him after all the controversies of For Britain, sub-species, Norwegian children, Der Spiegel, &c. Major labels considering him untouchable may simply not want the headache of his personality, expectations, and recriminations. It's possible he burned his last bridge with the Bonfire/Michelle Jubelirer nastiness. There comes a time when your history catches up with you.

By the way, some here assume he ´s now recording a third unsigned album. Any news ? Place , producer , musicians ?

3 months ago Warner/Sire had no problem in re-releasing the remastered version of BWD. So what‘s the point with Morrissey politics?

There is no confirmation of the third new album. If so, I guess the producer again is Joe C.

You've answered your own question here - Ian Brady's book was published by a tiny independent publisher - Feral House. Similarly, Morrissey could easily find some small indie record label to release his music, but so far he's been insisting on major label or nothing. Ultimately Morrissey is choosing to silence himself.

A major label did sign him, he blew it

She might have been adding guitar parts to Without Music or replacing Alain's parts?
The absolute horror of the thought of Carmen replacing Alain's parts
:swear

It's possible, but seems very unlikely. 'Without Music' has already been paid for, produced, completed and is in the bag since February 2023. Going back into the mix and redoing stuff seems a bit pointless now. Removing Alain's parts as a petty move wouldn't make much sense either, as he'll still get songwriting royalties if it's ever released.

Tend to agree with the above.
She's performed songs from 2 albums she wasn't involved with already.
I'd perhaps take 'new' as new album too.

FWD.

(edit: figure removed).

Apologies, just woken up (again).
