He just keeps getting better. The band sound really good too.

Really looking forward to the new album of original material.

:clapping::clapping:Well done!

Yep that guitar is the worst I've heard and instead of that awkward hand clap I'd have preferred a tambourine. Catchy tune of course and gay men always find hugging other men awkward and especially straight ones.
It's the equivalent of when you shake someones hand and it feels like a wet dead fish.

Wow, lame. I bought Morrissey a beer once when we were both in the VIP section at the El Rey in LA. He drank about half and then left.
Wow! that is such a cool story. To actually meet Morrissey in person would be truly amazing. I think I would be too shy to approach him. I didn't know that Morrissey drinks beer. Do you know if it was vegan beer?
When I was younger I thought that Morrissey didn't drink alcohol at all. In my mind Morrissey was a very pure gentleman who didn't drink alcohol, didn't smoke, never touched street drugs, was a vegan and was celibate. I like that Morrissey loves animals and he is into animal rights. Also Morrissey is very bookish, sensitive, intelligent and artistic. Morrissey is so cool he is one of last legends left that is still with us. Morrissey is genuine, down to earth and he is kind to fans. Morrissey is still in touch with normal, everyday people. To me he is like in a way a sort of punk version of Elvis Presley. We don't have the great Elvis Presley anymore as he died far too young but we still have the great Morrissey with us.

He's always been partial to a bit of booze, even in the Smiths days. Apparently he can drink most people under the table these days :lbf:

He should care more about his prostate cause being celibate is very bad for the prostate. Research shows men should ejaculate at least once a day to stay clear of prostate related issues.
Happy ending is part of thai massage for a reason.

He hasn't been celibate for 25 years now! Considering the number of innuendos in his last album, he's surely getting it somewhere.

He was never "celibate", just single. It was just a clever ploy for his "image" and to help him conveniently sidestep the issue of his sexuality.

One of the definitions of celibate on Merriam Webster is "having or involving no sexual relations" so if he wasn't having sex as a result of being single, he was celibate. The word, of course has certain connotations and when you think of celibacy, you might think of a priest who deliberately abstains from sexual relations, so I agree that it might've been used for his image, but it applies yet.

How do you know ?

The problem with Jesse isn't just this one song. He's been a heavy-handed mess since 2004.

Clearly, he is in the band because he's friends with Moz. If I'm not mistaken, Morrissey said something to the effect of "Jesse didn't audition, I met him and I liked him so he's in the band". That's NOT Good Enough. That doesn't bring up qualifications. I do think there's a level of "ingratiation" on Jesse's part to keep this gig going considering he failed a number of times before.

Jesse isn't a fit for Morrissey's music. He doesn't seem to understand it (Smiths stuff, early solo). Jesse is a throw it at a wall and see if it sticks player. He has no finesse. No delicate touch which is vital to playing the Smiths stuff. It's completely alien to Jesse. He plays how he "thinks" the song goes or completely changes it up as to be often times almost unrecognizable. To rack it up to "Morrissey prefers it" is ridiculous and a cop-out.

These are well written compositions by Marr, Street and Whyte that are getting flat out sonically abused by Jesse Tobias. It never ends. Every day it's another performance that leaves you thinking what the hell? What the Hell did Jesse just play? Does he even have any kind of grasp on these older catalog songs? He's butchering the integrity of the compositions.

It's not right. Jesse's been a charade for too long now and I am aware that Morrissey, by now isn't going to replace him. It just really sucks. The live shows, the videos, the new material could and should be so much better with a more qualified lead guitarist. It's a shame. It's a seriously regretful Shame.

Surely Boz can play the riff properly, so why isn't he tasked with it?

Yeah, I wondered that. Maybe it's just because he wasn't there for the recording, hence Jesse was tasked with it, and since nobody has the balls to tell him, he's kept doing it. I have wondered what Boz must think, having to stand there strumming and listen to that embarrassing butchery.

I think, if anything, that's what Boz has mastered -- having the patience to endure years of BS, cancelled shows/tours, controversial statements from his boss, embarrassing t-shirts -- the whole lot. This includes less-stellar musicians on stage with him.

"It's a paycheck."

It is sad for anyone who has a job that they work solely for the paycheck. Work is work after all and that is why they pay you to do it, but still if you can't find some joy in what you are doing then it can be a difficult slog to get through life. Perhaps this has to do with Boz's weight gain. Unhappy boys...with little joy...must take the cake from their hand! da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, ohhhhh.
