i think yes. i think hes making the point that the times are superficial and money is what matters most and not art and that no one seems to know the value of anything. kinda like his diversity jabs at the labels idea of morrissey not being diverse enough for there roster. pretending that what mattered and what was valued by the label was principal when it was really pr and sales which is fine but i think the pretense and the lies are hard for a person like morrissey to understand. a person who wrote a song like i couldnt understand why everybody laughed might have issues with disingenuous representatives of art and how these people have come to define the age we live in

oh i didnt notice. i dont know much about styles but he seems like a nice guy when i see the headlines here and there when im out and about. made me think of the justin beiber mentions a while back. he seemed very dismayed that pop music was being fronted again by empty but pretty faces with nothing to say. thats not a knock on styles though hes handsome enough. hes got a nice smile. thats how i judge them. by the light in there eyes when they have a smile on the face. not been knifed in the back yet

Hahaha yes Godzilla was actually the Sixth Smith for the Queen Is Dead Tour! He was involved in many shenanigans but during the shows he would man the lighting desk for the opening act. According to their Lighting Designer, John Featherstone, on tour they had an automated "sound to light" system so no one had to physically run the lights for the opener. They would put Godzilla behind the desk to look like he was in charge. Here's a photo of him and John taken by Nalinee Darmrong.

You're very welcome. The William shirt was an official promo item, but not necessarily crew only. I'm not sure how they made their way to the public though. Could have been sold on tour, or given away by Rough Trade / record shops. That would be my guess. Similar shirts exist for This Charming Man, Heaven Knows, etc.

i tried yesterday to get my 4yo into the smiths by showing him the pic of godzilla being fire behind the kit but he was unimpressed by anything not shin godzilla and then told me the mcqueen spider song was better. kids today

Meh, quick search on Etsy brings up several nice bootleg versions of this design. I get that the collector would want it for the "promo" aspect of it. But any fan just wanting that shirt can find it easily.
