Can anybody please explain why this is relevant? I just don‘t get it.
It’s probably a way to avoid paying tax.
Shut a company down only to start the same operation with a different name and clean sheet.
Touchwood !!!!!!!
Is it “Touchwood” that the punters will still turn up with money for me performing the same old shit with the same old shit set of lawnmower parts.
Or is it a gay play on words ??????

I suggest that posters here actually watch the series ‘Catweazle’. Touchwood is the name of Catweazle’s toad and familiar. Catweazle being a magician from Norman England who’s magic keeps going wrong and he ends up on Hexwood Farm in modern England. Perhaps the name Catweazle is copyrighted so Morrissey changed it to Touchwood for legal reasons. Touchwood the toad was a popular element of the series.

I saspect this is on the money.

But more interesting surely is why the company was incorporated just then (Nov 23) and maybe also the relationship with Yoongs. Maybe it was/is in contemplation of a particular tour in a particular place or particular recording activities.

I’m not sure he has had UK companies before to service his income, so that is also of note.

And of course it could all add up to nothing.

sometimes you can get an autograph without even asking.

you would avoid tax if it was 1974 where tax was set at an eyewatering 98% for anyone earning £20,000 or more, imagine that,no wonder all the big stars left to live abroad.

One, two, three, four
One, two (oh)
Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, 19 for me

'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman

(If you drive a car) I'll tax the street
(If you try to sit, sit) I'll tax your seat
(If you get too cold, cold) I'll tax the heat
(If you take a walk, walk) I'll tax your feet
Taxman

'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Don't ask me what I want it for
(Haha, Mr. Wilson)
If you don't want to pay some more
(Haha, Mr. Heath)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
(Taxman!)
Declare the pennies on your eyes
(Taxman!)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me (taxman!)

paul mc cartney appeared on the mike yarwood show in the 70s,yarwood was doing his harold wilson and he asked paul why he isnt in britain much these days and paul says i would if you werent charging me 98% tax, watched that sketch a few weeks ago.

For those asking why this is of relevance/interest, there are a few tidbits that the die-hards/stalkers may like.

1. CCYoung & Co are well respected music industry accountants. He's not being represented by cowboys here: https://www.ccyoung.co.uk/team/ Not cheap either.

2. The new companies were set up in November last year and one is specifically for touring income. Despite being an LLP, only Mogsy is listed as a director and has over 75% of the shares. Previously his mum and Linder have been involved. Now it's just him.

3. The paperwork says he's a resident/spends the majority of his time in the UK. This was always the case. The 'I live in LA/Rome/Switzerland' stuff that was portrayed since the 90s was always for image. He owned property in Ireland and LA, the rest were extended hotel/friends houses stays. I and many others have always seen him in and around Bowden/Altrincham routinely.

4. It suggests that his future plans lie in significant touring.

That's about it.

Catweazle was a bit before my time - it was first broadcast in 1970 - but I do remember it being shown in my childhood via repeats. Moz, who would have been about 10, was clearly a fan as a child. It was very popular in the 1970s. Clearly Moz identified with the story of a solitary figure from the past trapped in an 'alien' world in which he doesn't belong.

There was also a touch of the 'hippie' about Catweazle. He was a wizard / druid who cast magic spells against the Norman invaders of England. The Normans have always been seen as a symbol of the final destruction of Celtic Britain (and Ireland) and the origin of the royal foreigners that still rule to this day. Before the Normans came all land was 'common land' - the Normans came and carved it up amongst barons and lords. Catweazle was very 1969. Very 'levitation of the Pentagon', man.

Loved Catweazle, he had a great name for everything.
The Telling Bone was a fave. He would freak out at the most mundane everyday object assuming it had hidden powers.
Greats kids telly.
