Any Morrissey Trump fans here?

I realise people here would be afraid to admit it but I thought I'd ask anyway? I am one of them. By "One of them" I mean a Trump fan, not a person who's afraid to admit it.

Wayne Hsiung is a Morrissey fan. (He once said he would like to have Morrissey on his podcast, though he knows of course that Morrissey would never do a podcast). On Trump/Harris:

People throwing the word cult around is hilarious to me. Buzz-buzz! But hey, I'll indulge...
"Trumpers" I think they're called? Yes, looney. I'll never deny that there are insane people on both sides of the coin.

What are "the woke" then?
Some of them try to indoctrinate children, pressure to do unspeakable, irreversible things to themselves..
I'll leave it at that.

My point is: both sides have normal people, both sides have insane people. Just like always.
--This story is old, I know, but it goes on.

Me being one who is part of the working class, I voted for Trump because he brought more to the table to suit my life and family's future. Simple as that.
Her policies just don't align with me.
That's life.
Who gives a f*** about a fringe group like the so-called “woke”? What most people want is obviously not sex change for minors, transsexual story hour or a completely borderless world, but rather common decency, respect for democracy and rule of law, and solidarity. And a leader that doesn’t flirt with totalitarianism.

It's more about vibes. I agree that those are niche issues, but the Trump campaign (or one of its PACs) ran a very persuasive ad about Kamala Harris being in favor of taxpayer-funded sex-change surgery for prison inmates and detained illegals. And it was true: there was footage of her saying it. People don't have to particularly care about that issue to get a really bad gut vibe about Harris. They think, "WTF?" and that sticks with them.

Peanut the squirrel mattered, too: neither candidate had anything to do with it, but it just reminded everybody of the blind totalitarianism and snitching Karens from the early Biden days of lockdown and mandates. I thought the start of the Daniel Penny trial would be a factor favoring Trump because it gives a vibe about his pet issue of law and order. But it didn't get traction. It was overtaken by the execution of a squirrel. It was a wild election season in which no matter how bizarre or jackassish Trump got, the Harris campaign managed to be worse.

Yes, Politics is more about “vibes”.

How old are you? Eleven?

Ofcourse you can’t my dear. Just float on by. Selfish little Ashley. What a prize you are.
Oh? Selfish? Because I want what's best for me and my family during my short time here in earth? Who else am I suppose to live for? Timmy, Johny, and Sally who live thousands of miles away? That does not compute. 😂
You're a funny person, but you know what.. it's ok. Our views are very different, clearly, and that's completely fine. That's what makes the world go 'round. We can't all think the same.. it's not possible. We all grew up with different backgrounds, family upbringing, who and what we expose ourselves to.. so every outcome is different. It makes human life fascinating.
Hope you have a good day.

That’s the very definition of Selfish. Please take good care of yourself. Apperently that’s all that matters to you.

What a sad existence you lead.

Maybe everyone is eleven: you can just Google "vibes election"—it was one of the major punditry topics of the past four months. Not every voter is highly informed; a lot of people will pull the lever based on instinct about a candidate. If this wasn't true, negative advertising wouldn't work. It's been this way since the famous Willie Horton ad was a factor in Michael Dukakis losing in '88. And he looked like a dwarf when he rode in a tank with an oversized helmet to boost his military chops. Vibes matter whether we like it or not.

Harris herself appropriated Charli XCX's "brat" to play off her wine-mom persona and goofy laugh, and she leaned into a vapid celebration of "joy" for months before bothering to come out with policy points; that's actually campaigning on vibes. It was only when they realized they couldn't sustain the sugar high all the way to November that they started getting serious and doing interviews.

Re: people voting for certain parties because of the high cost of living ~

I don't think it matters who we vote for - prices will continue to rise, whatever the state of the economy, because big companies are greedy for excessive profits and do not care about the 'bigger picture'.

This thread makes me vomit. I am so so happy that I am not one of these dumb ass Americans. Because seriously, a convicted, sexist felon, a man that's clearly mentally limited, a man that doesn't give a f*** about your so called values, someone who has already shown that he isn't qualified for the job morally and professionally the first time around is the lesser evil? What a sad state of affairs, I hope you get all grabbed by the pussy, because - apparently - he can do anything.
