All UK/European gigs postponed due to "logistical circumstances beyond our control" - management

As I mentioned earlier today, this has now come to pass.

'Logistical issues'.

From @gigsandtours / Twitter:

NEWS// Morrissey tour statement.

Due to logistical circumstances beyond our control, the UK/European Morrissey concerts scheduled for July will be postponed.

We deeply regret any inconvenience to the fans and promise to reschedule UK and European dates as soon as possible.

All original purchasers from official ticket outlets will have the full ticket fee refunded, including booking fee, to their credit/debit cards. Refunds from ticket agents will be actioned from midday on Monday 2nd July.

The LIHS World Tour will continue, starting back up in Mexico City on November 23rd.

Watch for more dates to be added soon!

The LIHS World Tour has been Morrissey’s most successful tour to date, having achieved record business for the artist in both the U.S. and the UK.

We thank all the fans for their support. -

My opinion on the tour is that it was slightly misjudged. Who proposes a second UK tour right after already doing one? It was also announced at very short notice, and a lot of people would've already bought tickets for festivals or would be going on holiday at some point in the summer so money is tight. Not a good time to sell tickets for a short-notice tour. I reckon if Moz had opted for one big night in Manchester instead of two, it would have sold out and the whole tour would still be on.

The tabloids are saying: Moz Cancels Tour in Racism Row! What row? The single facebook post from Moz and his manager humourously slagging off Haslam? That was definitely bad timing because when the tour cancellation was announced the next day it gave the press ammo for a 'story'.

Haslam's night would've been mildly irritating to Moz but no way would he have cancelled an entire European tour over a night in a tiny club til 12 on a Sunday night.

Also, I don't think Moz's recent comments are a factor either as he's always been outspoken since the Smiths began.

His outspokenness is one of his attractions - illustrated by the many supposedly 'ex-Moz fans' on this very site who like to call him names yet are still evidently in love with all things Morrissey.
Do you know what the name of Morrissey's previous UK tour was called?

They said that this tour was called LIHS which stands for "Low in High School" the name of Morrissey's most recent solo album.

I don't think that the mainstream media like Morrissey very much.

They said that this was both a UK and European tour. Do you know what the European tour dates were?

I doesn't bother me that Morrissey has spoken out about Angela Merkel, Diane Abbott and Hillary Clinton. Lots of people have spoken out about these women. I'm not that keen on these women either.

People might remember that Morrissey was a Bernie Sanders supporter not a Donald Trump supporter.

Morrissey has also spoken out in support of Jeremy Corbyn while criticising Theresa May for her support of fox hunting.

Do you know much about Roseanne Barr? Do you know if Roseanne Barr has ever met Morrissey?

They say that Roseanne Barr has become a 'truther' in recent years. Along with Courtney Love and the model Janice Dickinson. To be honest I don't like Courtney Love and Janice Dickinson that much. I think that Roseanne Barr is Jewish I don't think that she has converted to Christianity. I think that Courtney Love is still involved with a Japanese Nichiren Buddhist cult called SGI Buddhism. I think that Janice Dickinson is also Jewish.

There really was low ticket sales. Both nights still had tickets available.

Nobody knows and nobody will never know if removing the fear factor tickets sales would had been different. I guess they would. Considering the hate campaign endorsed by mainstream media, plus the fact Manchester recently suffered a bombing during a concert and no terrorist cell seems to have been dismantled, plus no official demonstration made by the government that shows concern for the safety of people attending those shows given the hate campaign, I guess I would also have been afraid to attend.

That's why you can't speak about capitalism and the law of supply and demand here. They only exist in a free society, when people can choose freely because they do not fear for their personal safety and everybody feels treated equally, no matter their personal views. Fascism is extortion, the opposite of capitalism.

Low is relative then. 16,000 tickets available, ‘hundreds’ have been said to be still available.
So that’s more tickets sold than most times he’s played Manchester in the past 35 years ;-)

Crikey, your clutching at straws. His last 2 Manchester gigs were at the Arena which holds 21K. Nobody knows how many tickets were sold for Castlefield. What we do know is that The Sounds of the City events usually all sell out and its the first time a Manchester born Artist/Band has failed to sell it out, even last nights Hacienda Classical was sold out.

Yes, but different line-ups draw different amounts of people. If Moz had played with a few big names, as is usual at Castlefield he would have attracted more people too.
We don't know.
What we do know is that he had one of his most successful UK tours in Feb/March so to say he suffers from his outspokenness is at this point premature and merely wishful thinking on the part of the press that wants to defame him,

do you really think that if Morrissey knew how this would all turn out that he would've done or said anything differently? I think that's where you're wrong about Morrissey. I don't think he would've done anything differently. because he isn't phoney like that. he's not sly. he doesn't play to the media, tell the public what they want to hear. by saying "you are never bigger than the media and the public" what you are really saying is that authenticity is less important than popularity gained by selling yourself out, and I'm pretty sure Morrissey would disagree wholeheartedly with that, as would I. (love you Morrissey! take care of yourself, sweetie, cause I cant live in this world without you!!)
Poor thing , Morrissey doesn’t want your love nor he knows you exist, he just wants ticket sales .

Hey skinny, remember this?

You seemed very happy to be 5 feet away from a “racist” here didn’t you?? You bloody nazi you!

How hilarious to see Skinny creaming in his pants to a version of a song he later thoroughly slated. Also, it's rather strange to wonder what he's even doing there when he professes not to have liked a Morrissey song since before 2004. If I didn't know he was a paradigm of everything virtuous and morally principled in modern society it would almost look as if he's some crazy kind of lunatic hypocrite.

Well said. Yes. Only thing Id like to add, that its no surprise  has a huge following here.
Mediocrities attract like bad blue fungus. The fing guy doesnt know how to play a 1o second
guitar solo FFS, despite claiming direct lineage from the 60s bohemians. What a twat LOL
Also CALL THE COMET:drama:is one of the worst POS ever. Lets be real about it.
Thank you. You are very kind.

I'm guessing that you are talking about Johnny Marr in this post?

I think that you are a true Morrissey fan and a true Christian. I don't like swearing though. I think that by swearing or using insults in that way you are just reducing yourself down to their level. You are worth more than that!

I used to think that Johnny Marr seemed to be alright but I don't like what he has said about Morrissey in recent times. I'm guessing that Johnny Marr is still involved with New Age spirituality in some form like crystal healing, shamanism that sort of thing. I don't think that Johnny Marr is a born-again Christian.

I'm a Christian and I try not to listen to too much secular music these days. I think Morrissey's new album is fantastic though. God bless you.

A few big names? The formats not like that. Its a headline act and generally a couple of local artists in support.

Last year, James played with - David Keenan and Slow Readers -

The year before, New Order played with these - Fujiya Miyagi, Jake Evans and Lone Lady -

Ah ok, and they did two nights too?
I like both James and NO too, so great for them if they sold out the place!

No both one. I think thats where Morrissey slipped up I don't think anyone has played 2 consecutive nights there, not even Noel Galagher when he played in 15

That's just your opinion.

Stop blaming Haslam. He didn't make Morrissey cancel. Even if it was the reason, that's Morrissey's choice. Haslam doesn't have that power alone.

Public life has always required a diplomatic instinct that some people seem determined to avoid to their own peril. Personally, I think he started to feel bullet proof about his comments, and in that kind of bubble, he felt less of a need to try and be nuanced.

Morrissey has yet to adapt to the social media age where people can expose things that would have been equally as scandalous years before, but were easily buried in the relatively homogenized media world. People who fail to adapt to social change are just embalming themselves before their time.

This is why you have managers. They can help you navigate the ever evolving world of public life, and clue you in on things that you're oblivious too. You only have your self to sell, so you better take that seriously.

You are never bigger than the media, and you are never bigger than the public. No man is an island, and Morrissey has yet to accept that.

FFS give it a fing break, Skinny/Surface. Ayatollah Hasalam is a total loser. Nothin going DH.
No man is an island? LOL thats FASCISM/COMMIE POLLO 101. I take it you all want Moz to go to the Mosque like
Skinny/Surface/Cheswick all of you do. Submit to Allah.:turban: Have Moz pay more taxes to support you lazy Islamist bums with no job.:handfist:

Thats because both NO and James pretty much are sucky groups and have very limited appeal
and cant sell out. The get a couple of twats (lol I wonder who) to post that their shows are sold
out and at the gig itself the empty seats shine all around. They are just sucky have to get several other
kid groups aboard to even sell some tix. Pretty sad affair:rolleyes:

I saw it claimed on another site that about a third of the total Castlefield tickets were sold. Impossible to verify, but if he struggled to sell 2,000 in Edinburgh, then selling 5-6 K in Manchester would be pretty respectable in context. It means he can easily still sell out, say, the Apollo.

I still can't get my head around what he said was so offensive? Can someone break it down for me? and not the usual mind numbing he's racist crap.
