A$AP Rocky album news ... will it feature Morrissey?

as soon as possible rocky-what a name.
there must be a tracklisting which would show the details.

He first mentioned wanting to work with Moz back in 2018. It was either all just fluff to try to get Moz to work with him, or he was smoking too much, or he and Moz did go on to work together in some form, given the GQ interview about Moz 'doing what he needs him to do'. If that third option is the case, whether it will still appear on the album is anyone's guess.

(Very brief) Moz mention from about 28 minutes in:

I still think this quote from Rocky in the original GQ article from 2021 is one of the funniest things anyone's ever said about Morrissey:

“Anything you need him to do, he show up and do.”

Yea, apparently Morrissey cleaned his pool out and then after lunch, helped rehome his chihuahua.

Confirmation that the album will indeed feature Morrissey, from this fascinating, in-depth Billboard profile of Rocky:

Relevant section:

Don’t Be Dumb will still feature the kinds of collaborators Rocky’s fans expect, like rapper and friend Tyler, The Creator, and an all-star roster of producers including Pharrell Williams, Mike Dean, Hitkidd, Madlib and Metro Boomin, as well as some they most definitely won’t, like Morrissey. But getting such a crew on your album when you’re as famous and renowned as Rocky isn’t a feat; the hard part is making all of those disparate sounds work together to make something cohesive and accessible.

Might be totally wrong about this, but if you listen to this track from around 2:15 onwards, you get a sense of what Rocky *might* do with a voice like Morrissey's. (In this instance, the guest vocals are from the amazing Jessica Pratt.) It's gorgeous.

The sound does become gorgeous but could you imagine Morrissey writing lyrics like that? Lucifer Sam posted those of another A$AP Rocky song in the poetry thread - https://www.morrissey-solo.com/thre...rissey-flavour.150782/page-10#post-1987607913

Instructive! Is it like a language, with code that can be better deciphered by the in-group?

From a new cover interview with A$AP Rocky in W magazine (including v stylish photos taken by Rihanna):

Don’t Be Dumb sees Rocky experimenting with his sound more than ever. “If you take indie, mix it with classical, mix it with vintage Memphis meets Dipset meets Wu-Tang, that’s where I grab a lot of inspiration from,” he says. That swirl of influences—which also includes silent films from 1930s Germany and bands like Portishead (the rapper has been listening to them a lot lately)—can be clearly felt on the track “Hood Happy,” which features Busta Rhymes, Flavor Flav, Slick Rick, Fatman Scoop, and Morrissey. Of course, his musings on fatherhood make their way onto the record as well, but Rocky is not sure he’d call this album more personal than his past works.
