Keep thinking how "Once Upon A Woman's Body" had a certain spooky hip hop feel to it, I was wondering if maybe elements of any of those "lost tracks" featured. That specifically was a Jesse one I think.

That’s neat about using multiple samples from different songs all from the same artist. U could make a call and response for yourself from different time periods and that could be very neat. A younger him could maybe be arguing with an older him. Even if he just sampled the older him in a new song and wrote a new lyric addressing his older self directly would be a neat idea. Never thought of that. Like when Ryan mention the cure incorporating live pieces into studio recordings. Seems obvious but I just never thought about it. Lots of morrissey songs and smiths songs for that matter have elements that would easily work in a hip hop format since they sometimes draw from funk and soul. U don’t need beats, just grooves and flows. I myself think the smiths bside wonderful woman could easily be made into a hip hop song. I hope it drops soon as I want morrissey to have a positive step forward out of his funk and I think this could be a good first step. Let it come out have people praise it and be popular with a very mainstream audience. Just for his own mental state I want it to go well. I love that he’s doing these collabs now. Iggy pop, asap, Thelma Huston. I’ve been surprised at how well theyve worked given the history of not doing many

But Alain wasn't notified about the use of his writing/recording? I mean if you can't say, I understand.
To be fair this could all just be Wikipedia conjecture, I just happened to notice it today.
I must join in - if Alain has a publisher contract, the publisher always has to contact the artist with the proposed sample use and the artist must agree. So, I agree, if you cannot disclose this information, fine, but Alain must know which of his composition was used.

I'd wait until there's actually a source on Wikipedia (unusual there isn't one). Looking at the contributor making edits, there doesn't appear to be any reason to believe there's purposeful misinformation. It's the only current place citing that information though, so pinch of salt for a while longer.
FWD.

But they'd be okay with taking such a credit if and when what for emerges? It should be good for everyone.
I don't know. I suppose we'd have to ask them individually. What if the track is/was trash? :D

Personally, I think it's just being reported incorrectly.

As for Alain being notified, if it's just a sample it's possible the type of licensing obtained wouldn't require him to be notified or submitted for his approval. In fact, because the hypothetical "it" being released was originally under "Morrissey", Alain may not have any say and any royalties that would come of it would likely just be lumped in with other items and not itemized. However, if it's say a cover and prominent (like First Of The Gang in the Ant Man film), I think it's different and he knew. Again, it's above my pay grade and that kind of thing is handled by the lawyers/publishers. So, take it with a grain of salt.

i would think that morrissey as the owner of the track would be the only one who would be notified and it would be up to him but if he needs to tell someone it would im guessing be up to the conditions of his contract with morrissey. i agree that its probably something erroneous in part but wouldnt it be cool to have an individual piece with all of them before they might all split. would be a cool way to part
