You don't want Smiths fans associated with the killer, but feel that solo fans are better suited ?"...I dont want Smiths fans to be associated with some sociopathic killer for hire... also felt like Morrissey's solo material would have worked better in some aspects lol"
Well, ideally no, but I would have picked Morrissey solo stuff over the Smiths if I had to pick oneYou don't want Smiths fans associated with the killer, but feel that solo fans are better suited ?
More unhappiness about misuse of Smiths songs here; a theme now! - https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/11/fincher-vs-civilization-in-the-killer/His solo stuff doesn't have the same ironic contrast since he was writing about killers.

Sorry, films.
I know, right?Sorry, films.
I also say check not cheque, and theater instead of theatre.
You guys are all missing the point of it. Listen to how the lyrics of what you can hear correspond to the scene or the scene immediately prior. It’s genius and very cool.
Yeah, yeah, noticed but they felt really forced and didn't give any depth or emphasys to the story or the character. In my opinion. You guys are all missing the point of it. Listen to how the lyrics of what you can hear correspond to the scene or the scene immediately prior. It’s genius and very cool.

100% correct. The lyrics in the songs used do indeed correspond to what is going on in the film at the same time. Like, say they use Girlfriend In A Coma just after the killer's woman has been badly beaten and ended up in the hospital in a, well...coma. It's not even subtle! You guys are all missing the point of it. Listen to how the lyrics of what you can hear correspond to the scene or the scene immediately prior. It’s genius and very cool.
