Strange/unexpected Moz references?

Coronation Street!!! Girlfriend in a Coma and/or The Smiths popped up in three conversations. Daisy: "It's not a crime not to like The Smiths". Jenny: "Yes, it is". And a reference to the miserable nature of the music. I know the thread is "Moz" references, but still.....He used to like Coronation Street.

The Chase, ITV (UK) quiz show

Q. Who was the subject of Morrissey's song ''Margaret on the guillotine?

A young woman from (ironically) Manchester got the question right

"for many queers of a certain age The Smiths, and Morrissey himself, offered a glimmer of melancholic hope at a time when there was dearth of representation in the media as we danced in our bedrooms dreaming of finding our own “This Charming Man.”'

Yes, I saw that and thought it was quite witty really. The girlfriend in question had a stoma fitted - so, girlfriend with a stoma.

I think even Morrissey would have raised a smile to that.

It got me wondering if it was an attempt to tip their hat to Morrissey and his band after all these years, particularly because he once wrote a script for Corrie.

Interestingly, in other scenes within the same episode, someone used the phrase 'His Master's Voice', and someone else chalked up two people parting to 'artistic differences'

There was also some dialogue where someone asked if a character has learned their lesson. The response given was, 'does anybody ever?'

Episode can be seen here for anyone interested. The Smiths are directly referenced at 14:25, 16:26 and 23:53.

Warners in the UK have just restocked Hatful Of Hollow on black vinyl @ ~ÂŁ24.99.
Any good indie should be able to order it in.

Good morning, Solo. I want to tell you about a dream I just woke from. I had a dream last night.. that a new Morrissey music video was uploaded to YouTube and I couldn't find a good wi-fi signal to watch it as a whole. As I walked around the scrap yard of my work place trying to find one, I watched and listened to the song in bits and pieces. Morrissey overused auto tune and it was hard to listen to, but I continued. I said in my dream, "Oh God, what will Solo think? ...I bet they're excited." My heart was racing, I was so excited a new song was here! It seemed so real. I remember seeing celebrities in the video with Morrissey. Adam Sandler, for some reason, and Marilyn Manson are the only two I remember. There were more, but they we're unrecognizable. I went to Solo and it wasn't on there yet. As I was going to post it I woke up.
Idk if this is the right thread for this, but oh well. I just wanted to share.

It is a bit strange.

I did take an allergy pill last night, medicine makes my dreams very vivid.

Nice that Moz made an appearance in your dreams. That and the forum stuff might be a sign you're on here too much though

Sleep on and dream of new Morrissey music
Because it's the closest you will get...
To new Morrissey music....

For now.

LOL, yeah, I do get on here quite a bit, but I also don't use any other forms of "social media".. YouTube, Spotify, and Morrissey-Solo are the only things I really use the internet for. I love having musically like-minded people to chat with. I've never had that before, so you guys have a special place in my heart.
