Actually in the 1985 programme for the Meat Is Murder tour, he said this concert was his 'greatest embarrassment'."

I think that gives some more insight into why Johnny refuses to tour with Morrissey again - leaving the stage after being hit with a flower? He's said the lead singer should be someone strong and dependable who carries the show like Chrissie Hynde or Matt Johnson. By the way, tonight is Johnny's last show with James in the US/Canada, not one missed show despite illness in both bands, they powered through.
