Morrissey announces the close down of the present U.S. tour with "unimaginable sorrow".
On Saturday, June 7th, following the show at Boston Opera House, Morrissey collapsed and was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital where doctors treated Morrissey for "acute fever". Difficulties had arisen on May 31st following Kristeen Young's opening set at the Miami Knight Concert Hall, after which Kristeen confessed to "a horrendous cold", the symptoms of which were passed on to Morrissey resulting in the cancellation of the next show in Atlanta.
For the good of all, Kristeen was asked to step down from the immediate upcoming shows, but instead she decided to leave the tour entirely. Morrissey and the band wish her well and hope she is now in good health.
Morrissey received medical attention in Miami, and once again in Boston, but it was not enough to shake off the virus, the recovery time for which is too lengthy to meet the final 9 shows of the tour.
Morrissey and the band are otherwise delighted and very grateful for their experiences on the U.S. tour, some shows of which they considered to be their best-ever, most notably:

1 BOSTON Opera House
2 LOS ANGELES Sports Arena
3 BEAUMONT Julie Rogers Theater
4 NASHVILLE Ryman Auditorium
5 MEMPHIS Orpheum Theater

Do you people truly not realise that having horrendous allergies could easily make one feel like they are coming down with something? If I stumbled with a closed throat and only able to breathe through one nostril after being around thousands of people on a daily basis I wouldn't go "Aw shucks, allergies are acting up" before making any other assumption.

and your point is?

...are tour t-shirts still available for purchase ?...and will there be a significant discount ?......

I thought I would never get the chance to see him. I was amazed how everything came together so well and I had actually gotten my hopes up a bit.

Does anyone here think he's not sick at all? Wouldn't someone at mass general ( not a staff member) seen he and his entourage in the ER? He's not super famous in Boston, they wouldn't have ushered him into a room unless he was urgently ill. He would have had to sit in the waiting area at some point.

Both moz and kristeen are both in on this for the promo, quite simple. Everything is a massive game, they're fcked in the head.

Yeah, no amount of publicity is going to help them sell enough albums to cover the loss of money from nine shows.

I saw him perform Saturday night and he was sick. I already posted elsewhere here about the nose blowing, the vigorogous coughing and excessive drinking of water. Saw this with my own eyes from the front row. I still don't fathom how he pulled off such a good show feeling that poorly.

I also saw an ambulance leave from the side of the venue as I was eating dinner at the restaurant two doors down from the venue. Didn't put two and two together at the time, but can vouch for that as well. And if he collapsed as the TTY statement says, the EMTs certainly aren't going to have him sit in a waiting area outside the Mass General casualty.

I saw the ambulance as well. Didn't see the nose blowing or coughing.

How's the acting career going?
Regarding Spencer Cobrin's comment- if he's so "yawn" about Morrissey, why is he getting paid to go to the Smiths/Morrissey convention????? If he dislikes him so much, stop trying to make more money off of him and go join another band.

I wouldn't want to work with her after this. A lot of things go on in music industry and you are supposed to keep it to yourself. It is not her tour and she was very lucky to even be a part of it.

This. I feel he does have health issues but this stand for truth of hers just smacks of promo for her new LP, IMO. It's not as if she never lies when it suits her.

Okay, now I can stop fantasizing about jumping on stage and giving Moz a blue rose and a hug. All my joy for the month of June has just canceled on me. I look forward to very few things in this life and this certainly takes the cake. Why do I bother? I knew he was a flake and yet I made huge travel preparations to see him a second time this tour, even when the first time I saw him in St. Pete it was pretty lackluster. I was hoping for a better show in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania, why the f**k would anybody ever go there? Obviously to see Moz, but now I am going for no damn reason. Thanks a lot you &#^$%$%@* a little mad at the Moz at the moment. I don't know if he will ever follow through with a tour again. People pay hundreds of dollars for tickets as evidence that they do want to see Moz and he treats his fans like they could take it or leave it, canceling on a whim. I hope he knows that it's a huge let down. The segment of society that enjoys his music is depressed enough, let's not all go out like Margaret Dale, and let's definitely not get too upset over this. We know he has "beef" with KY, but we don't care. We want to see Moz, and he needs to put his issues with his opening act aside for the sake of his fans. So pissed right now. I am going to go sulk for a while now. He's full of excuses and BS. Love the music, but I am starting to think he believes "work is a 4 letter word."

I saw the ambulance and the BFD squad car at the side of the Boston venue as well. (someone on Twitter has a photo of it that is floating around) The large group of people standing on the corner by the buses should have been well aware of the emergency vehicles and the commotion taking place in that alley leading into the venue. They saw all of the band members and security coming out of the alley and then the response vehicles with lights flashing respond to the same location.

I too was in the front row at the Boston show Boston and confirm what DubbalinGirl saw, Moz was coughing throughout the show and even had a bit of a fit in coughs during Pigsty while he was laying on the floor.

Good to see the morrissey faithful, or faithless, full of the milk of human kindness as usual.
Quite ironic really.
So you missed a gig, so what, nobody died you'll get your money back, grow up for christs sake.

Another selfish a-hole. He was taken out by ambulance in Boston- I saw it pull up to the venue. He made it to Baltimore and he intended on continuing. The man obviously had health issues. He doesn't need " fans" like you.
