By the way, has it ever been confirmed anywhere that it's Kirsty MacColl who provided the backing vocals from 2:52 on 'I'd Love To'? I know she wasn't officially credited, but it sure sounds a hell of a lot more like Kirsty than it does Morrissey or Alain, unless it's husband/producer Steve Lillywhyte using a similar layering effect or a sample of her or something?

Was it a Miley Cyrus-style record company situation where it was easier just not to credit her?

Are you referring to Malarkey? You seem to be suggesting they've made direct contact with Morrissey and his team. If so, isn't it up to them to decide whether to engage with those messages? Malarkey has shown exceptional single-mindedness, strength of character, and astuteness in patching together the many factors affecting the public image of Morrissey, in a community often aggressively hostile, which to me at least, only confirms the sincerity.
