Another guest list discussion

Yup. One shouldn't be so surprised.
I guess I'm not surprised. I've seen this with other bands I've followed through the years. I personally haven't noticed a lot of the same familiar faces at the Morrissey shows I've attended, but I'm in the US so maybe that's different. I've also never been fortunate enough to have front row seats, but I do for the one show I'm able to attend this tour. Fingers crossed.

I can't remember ever seeing him in a venue where there were seats on the main floor but when I used to stand right at the front I don't recall ever having an issue with these so called super fans.

On Halloween, there were at least 5 different arguments/fights in the front. Two people in front of me, were extremely pissed off that they could not sit in their front row seats due to the amount of people by the stage.

Last night(Durham), as is often the case, they gave wristbands to everyone with a first or second row ticket that allowed them to stand at the stage.
Not great when there are a few dozen fans only who are from the forward rows who get to treat the show like their own personal standing show while the rest must sit it out at a distance

Can’t speak of now. I stopped going after he asked me to vote far right. However, up until then, the issue had changed, with different people entering the picture. I’ve definitely seen seat squatting by JR, enforced by others around as she just looked on. It was tried on my party of 4 once, but whatever we did, it worked and they cleared off. That was like watching a cult. Quite pathetic really.

Most recently, at UK gigs, a young lad with psychological issues and his female companion were a nightmare. He used to think nothing about just throwing out his arms to hit whoever was around him, with his clenched fists. Then after the gig try and join you in the pub and be your new best friend. Next night up front he’d threaten you! Seriously disturbed young man.

You mean For Britain? or for the UK independence party? Well, glad to know that even Morrissey didn’t vote for them, or anyone for that matter. So what does that say?

The irony is that some of these people got added to the guestlist a long while ago (over a decade) for attending a number of shows that probably seemed high at the time, but is less impressive these days. Dozens of fans have since racked up larger gig attendance records, but will never be rewarded for it, whilst these lucky few from years ago now get free entry to every show, and get to waltz to the front row without queuing - seemingly for eternity.

My five cents - at this point the fairest thing to do would be to cancel the entire thing. If you want to be a crazy no 1 fan who is on the barrier at every single show - fine - your call. Put the effort in, buy your ticket and queue up all day like everyone else wanting to do the same thing. That would show your dedication to Morrissey. Swanning around on the elite package only having to worry about travel and hotel costs doesn't show much dedication at all. Especially these days, when it can cost hundreds of dollars for the rest of us plebs to get a pit ticket - that's if you can find one at all - and then have to spend all day sat outside the venue in the rain, only to find the barrier is already half full when the doors open.

Well said indeed. Unfortunately nothing will change apart from the guest list faces rotating, they generally come and go after a decade or so. Being a fan isn't a competition but those people believe it's the most important thing in the world

He sang to us -don’t vote. He then said,- vote for these. Whether he voted himself is of no relevance. Just something for his excuse makers.
