Friday June 26 is the designated day for release of the ‘Notre-Dame’ vinyl disc. Sire Records will release four tracks, three of which appear on vinyl for the first time. The exclusive orchestrated version of ‘Notre-Dame’ was recorded in Paris, with an ensemble of stringed instruments and a conductor working under the direction of producer Joe Chiccarelli. The disc has been pressed on so-called ‘lemonade’ vinyl color, and is available worldwide.
MORRISSEY: “The orchestrated ‘Notre-dame’ should be played unendurably loud. Happy New Tears remains the star, but didn’t make the album simply because space was limited, and not because the song was considered lower-berth. The confused cocktail party intro was recorded in a haunted part of the studio in France - a Will read at midnight, that sort of villainy. The vocal on Hello Hell was only recorded once or maybe twice. Everyone was on particularly good form. I know people generally go on and on about the songs of the past, but please...
